I would like to scratch build a ejection seat (1/16) from any aircraft that you can think of. Here's the kicker, the one who comes up with the most intriguing and the FIRST one who suggested it will own said seat. That's right, i'll be giving it away. So lets have some fun with this and see some of your . Oh ya one more thing, this also extends to our members outside the U.S.
I do have a ejection seat in the models on diplay section, go over and have a look

Hey Joseph.

What about the seat in a ba-349 natter? tha'd be kinda cool eh? then you could build the whole plane, it wouldn't be too big.

Mother -

Couldn't pass this by (though I'm currently focused on WW II AFVs) as I happen to work for Boeing, Integrated Defense Systems. More specifically as a Maintenance Training Specialist on the F/A - 22 Air Superiority Fighter and in the Egress/Crew Escape areas. So since I'm very familiar with the F/A-22's ejection seat, how about trying a "Modified Advanced Concept Ejection Seat (ACES II) ? Or as Goodrich/United Propulsion calls it, ACES III. My other recommendation would be the former Soviet's "K36", like on the MIG 29.

That would be a cool challenge B-1A Crew Excape Module. Not many pics of the inside, but i'm able to build the capsule. They did drop that project in favor of the lighter weight B1-B Aces II ejection seat w/ 4 crew members. Lets see what else comes through.

Well times up and it came down to three ejection seats to choose from. The low reply count made it easy, so i've decided that i would do all three.

winners,

Steeldog51- B58 Hustler
Logansdad - B1 Lancer
Blade48mrd - F/A 22

I will PM you guys about the details.

Mother -

You've got yourself quite a task ahead. Since I work for the F/A-22 Training Program and "Egress" is one of the areas I deal with in developing training and courseware for the Air Force F/A-22 "Maintainers", I might be able to provide some graphics to help you out. I'll have to check though as most of the data is "Company Proprietary" so I can only give out what is cleared for public release. Let me know if I can help. Also, you're offer to give the model away is more than generous and far beyond what anyone would expect. I propose that if you still want to do something like that, we compensate you somehow/someway or maybe work a "trade"? I see in your "Profile" that you enjoy racecar models. I've got a couple Tamiya 1/20 F1 models I'll probably never get to and even a Tamiya Ducati motorcycle model that I'd donate to your cause. Thanks for the opportunity,

Wow, Mother, when I said it'd be a challenge (B-1 CEM) I didn't know how much of a challenge!
I did realize the CEM was canceled with the original program, but thought some info on such a rare type of ejection pkg would have survived. Some A9 searching during my lunch break did turn up a total of two (2) pics of the interior, both of which can be found in my gallery on pg. 25. You may already have these, they came from A site dedicated to the USAF museum @ Wright-Patterson, not sure if it was THE site... .
Anyway, I'll keep my eyes open for more info, and IIRC we have a member on this site who lives close to the Museum. He may be up to popping in (They have one of the only two surviving B-1A's) and getting more ref's. I'll try to follow up on that as well.
No Pressure, of course, I just want to help if I can

Hey Bob, thanks and no i don't have those two pics, but i do now. I did down load them for myself so if you need the room get rid of them. I started on the B-58 last night ( Steeldogs) and i hope to have them ( all 3 ) finnished around mid January. If you do happen to come across anything throw the web site my way. Thanks and see you around the site.
