With a peek behind the Iron Curtain, Russ Clugston (SkyWrench) has submitted a superb series of photos of a preserved Mig 17.

I have seen this plane up close and personal lately while playing Battlefield Vietnam. Great aircraft! I actually prefer it to the Mig21 as I can seem to hit a damn thing flying that fast. hehe

Thanks,
Jim

Battlefield Vietnam eh? Those reference images didn't quite reveal where the dozens of bombs are stacked in the "game plane". :-)

Rowan,
Thank you for posting my pics. Hopefully someone will get some good use from them. I figured with the Seeing Red campaign coming up, might be a good time to submit them.
Sorry I couldn't get better cockpit shots, the guy who flys it came by the hangar the next day and took all the intake plugs and gun plugs off and opened the canopy, and of course that was the day I didn't have my camera .
