Try this site. It has a couple of cockpit shots, one in colour and one in black & white.

It's remarkable how many examples of this aircraft still exist; possibly because the Allies wanted to evaluate new types of German aeronautical technology. I think here in the UK there are at least two - one in the Imperial War Museum, the other I think is at RAF Cosford, though it could have been moved to another museum. The Musee de l'Air in Paris has one as well.

Thanks for all the links. I just found out I have one of these kits (was going through my entire stash of models). It is one of my only two DML aircraft (the other being a P-38M). Great references for a neat looking jet.

There is a new publication from the Tamiya magazine stable, called Model Airplane International - the layout is virtually identical to the Tamiya magazine, so should easily be found in your local model shop or newsstand. The October 2005 issue has a feature on the He 162, including colour photos of the cockpit in the example in the Smithsonian Institute (another surviving a/c to go with the others mentioned on this thread). The machine is unrestored, so the colours are all original, though possibly having suffered aging in the last 60 years.
The article also has some excellent colour profiles by Richard Caruana, featuring the best known 162s and in one case (White 5) a plan view showing the two colour scheme on the nacelle, stbd wing and horizontal stabilizer.
The mag should still be available if you look around or you could order a back issue from the publishers.
