The one question that has always puzzled me is on aircraft that were natural metal finish. I have seen reference material contradicting itself. One saying the bottom of the plane was left in metal finish and another says it was neutral grey.
Personally I like camo better.

Hey crockett nicely done, the cockpit looks great. You should entry it in the Aircraft Model of the Month.

Very nicely done do the markings come with the kit?
I agree with joe, you should enter it in the MOM.

To my knowledge, the standard color that was painted was neutral grey on the underside. The point of neutral gray is so the aircraft blends into the sky when looking at it from the ground. The bare metal would glint and a spotter on the ground would see it. While I am sure it happened, given each unit's different SOP, I haven't seen a bare metal bottom aircraft with an upper camo scheme.

Thanks to all......

As to the belly, well your guess is as good as mine. while researching this aircraft, I only had a few BW pics that really didn't tell us anything. Even Gabreski gave conflicting answers concerning his own jug in interviews after the war. There are some photos that definitely suggest NMF underneath, and just as many that say RAF gray. Perhaps we will never know.

The markings are a mixture of kit decals and computer generated to create Dottie number three.
