Howdy All,
In an effort to generate more interest in the "Rotary Wing" side of the site (pardon my pushing to the front for the moment you Aircraft guys....

) But this question was asked on another site, and I just wanted to know what the opinion was over here at the big 'A' in regards to what kits, scale, and/or conversions, etc. you might want to see made available for the helicopter kit builders out there?
Now come on.......step right up and cast your opinion.....I just
know there at least a handful of you out there who build 'Mixmaster's'.
Now come on.......speak up. Don't
force me to 'name name's' now..........................
O.K......just to start this off. Here is a pic of a kit I would pay a king's ransom for in 1/35th scale (fat chance), but I would be eternally grateful if it would appear in 1/48th as well........
The CH-37 Mohave

Man, would I just love a kit of this puppy!
O.K..........who's next?

More 1/35 Huey troop carrier. I know there are Frogs and other variants out there but I just want a plain Jane troop carrier with the M60 side gunners. They had one out before but I haven't seen one for eons.
Also a 1/35 Nam Cobra would be nice. I think they have one from Desert Storm but not sure about Nam.

I prefer 1:35th scale - so my wishes are all in that size range...
I'd like the Chinook for sure - willing to pay a reasonable price for a multi-media kit (reasonable = up to $120).
I'd like the Piasecki ZV8P Air Geep. I know, I know - ain't a helicopter but still...
Tarhe will always make my list!

I'd like an update/new production of the Husky - great for Cold War and Vietnam era projects.
Lastly - I'd love a Super Jolly Green Giant or the big Sea Stallion in 1:35th. Those are serious birds!

Any and all helos in 1/35. I would really like to see an H-34, and yes a better UH-1D/H model. The Panda kit is pretty poor. Navy Seahawk or Coat Guard Jayhawk would be great too. Chinook is supposed to be on the way from Trumpeter. Sea Knight or Sea King would be great too. CH-53D or MH-53E Super Jolly Green would be awesome. If I had all the above, I would need another room to display them all, but would grab them up.

Yeah i'm with Jim on this one, a 1/35 Chinook. Now that would be one big heli.
Yeah Alan Revell made the UH-1D and UH-1H but thier long out of production. 1982 for the "D", 1994 for the "H" They still can be bought on ebay for around $20-$30 dollors. As for the 1/35 Cobra, Monogram re-released the AH-1G, not as good as the 1/48th's...but it's a kit.
It feels like bible camp…Only I’m not crying pretending I’m somewhere else.

I'll go for the other side then.
I'd be interested in a Ka 50 and 52 as well as a Mi-28.
We've already got a Hound, and Hind and a Hip, so bring on the Hokum and Havok!
While we are at it, how about a weapons pylon and armaments set for the armed Hips...?

I, too, want a good CH-53E. Given Academy has done a CH-46, I wouldn't think one is too far away, but who knows? (No really, who knows?)
I'd also like to see a good SH-2.

Friend Gordo - I've got two Glencoe Air Geeps - they're just, well, ahh, DATED!!!

sopmod6 - I have both Kangnam Apaches. They're fairly detailed, but the AH-64D isn't accurate - they used the same parts in the cockpit from the A variant and do not provide the larger sponsons for the D. It'll call for more effort to model a Longbow Apache than their other release will to render an acceptable A variant.
If you have Hasegawa's AH-64 Apache in 1:48th scale (like I do) and then open the Kangnam box - you might pull a Redd Foxx imitation and clutch your heart in a fake attack...

Bought my 1st helo in, say, 30 years -- the 1/48 Fonderie H-21. Haven't started it yet, but want to, despite review comments re effort required. I bought it because it caught my eye as odd ....
I guess I have no specific birds I'd like other than big cargo/troop carriers.
I'd like to see a move toward 1/35 (rather than armor moving to 1/48!!) ....

a chinook, a vertol, a jolly green giant, a skycrane, all in 1/48
Whoops , I'll buy them all. Just have to find the tme then to actually build the beauties

But I need also figures (loadmasters, soldiers,...) and equipment to go with those birds so that i can build a realistic diorama ;-)

For big scale helos, I'd like to see Kamov Ka-25 / Ka-27.

For American helos, definitely would like to see a few more Blackhawk variants (eg. HH-60J Jayhawk, SH-60, maybe a conversion for a Velcro Hawk or something interesting like that), CH/MH-53, CH/MH-47, and maybe a few other birds that I can't think of for the moment. As far as rest-of-world helos, would like to see a Westland Lynx for sure, some of the attack helos as well like that gnarly looking French helo, the one with the bubble canopy and protruding exaust. Just thought of another American helo, V-22 Osprey, now that would be a fun build.

Hi there
Yep! The Mohave is awesome!
Pah! to all this modern stuff.

.. I'm pretty happy to have Special Hobby's Sikorski R-4... but what I'd REALLY like to see is a 1/48 scale injected Focke Achgelis Fa 233.
All the best

Hi Chuck
Well... why do you think I'm such a fan of short-run manufacturers!? I know I'll be cold in my grave before "Tamigawa" bring out one of these beasts... but short-run?... it might happen be for the arthritis sets in!
