Hi Rowan,

I must compliment you fellas. I really like the new MotM format!

I could only cast one vote, I even trying logging out and back in again to try to dupe the system, and I was well caught out! Well done!

My only criticism would be the "Clear my vote" option, IMHO once you cast your ballot, that's it, you shouldn't be able to change your mind. I think this will also prevent any possible performance issues that may crop up as the MotM in the various forums grow and as the member involvement in MotM grows.

Is this a voting format that will be used across the board in the different Armorama forums? IMHO, it should be! It really is great! Once again, well done!!!

Hi everyone

Thanks for taking the time to try this test out. I've closed the vote and the result that I see is:

27779Mustang_2 got 3 votes, all the rest got 1.

Can you check you see the same totals and also try again to vote - let's make sure "closed" really means closed.

Thanks again and all the best

Rowan

Err, that'll teach me to read all the posts first before opening my mouth

Anyway, at +-16.00 Central African Time the mustang & albetros each had 2 votes, all the others 1... I managed to cast my vote for the ModelZone... even though the voting was closed... is the voting open again or am I an uber user :-)

OK..... here's my latest check, along with my usual dumb question......
Albotross, now has 3 votes
Mustang now has 2 votes
There rest has 1 vote.....
it now tells me "Voting has started"
Totally different than it was this morning when I got home from work. It is now 430PM NY time.

So, a real treat... 2 really dumb questions:
1. Did you start the voting again for a continued test?
2. Why was I seeing different vote tallies, earlier in the day, than the guys later in the day, (even taking time zone changes into account) if the voting was closed?

Well the thing seemed to work fine when I voted.

By the way congratulations Rowan on winning the vote, although it did seem slightly in your favour.

Hi Dave et al

All very strange! LOL!

1. No, I didn't re-enable the voting! I've just turned it off again - so have a look later and see if it's turned itself back on...
2. I've seen different tallies myself... I've no idea why. This could be really fun if we had similar results using the gallery voting for a real MOM. At least we could all call ourselves winner - if we all see different tallies, who'd be abe to say nay! LOL!

For the record, I now see the following result:

Albtross - 4 votes
Wood effect - 3 votes
Modelzone shop - 2 votes
Macchi cockpit - 1 vote
Mustang cockpit - 1 vote
c.205 cockpit - 1 vote
Mustang - 1 vote

Who knows what the tally will be when I check tonight?

All the best

Rowan,
Don't forget that other admins can turn on/off and reset votes as well. They may have as it is marked as a test.

I doubt seriously it is turning itself on or off.

Hi Jim

LOL! Well it could be someone in admin... but I prefer to think it's the ghost in the machine... much more exciting!

All the best

06:30.... cloudy, over cast, frost warnings tonight ......(I say that simply because I was running the AC yesterday) and the current results seen on my computer are:

Voting is closed.
"You picked this image" marking the one I voted for.
Albatross =4
Wood=3
ModelZone=2
the others all have 1.

Hopefully the gremlin that's driving poor Merlin over the edge will stop, and allow him to finish, and get this important set up... set up properly...... Then the other forums, and campaigns can use it.

Hi Fred

Sorry - I missed your post (the joys of time-zones). When were you trying to vote? Did the gallery say voting was "enabled"?

All the best
