Hi there
As part of our on-going attempt to find the most user-friendly way of voting for Model of the Month, I've set up a test album using the Gallery voting system. The pictures are random, but please pretend it's a real Contest Album.
This system is really new, so please give it a try - and see how it works... Is it reliable? Can you vote for more than one entry? Can you vote for the same enty more than once?
Basically, this album is there to use and abuse as much as you can! Try to break it!
All the best

It's let me vote once, I will keep looking to see if it "times out".

I've just tried it, and clicked on every pic, some more than once.

Above the thumbnail is "0 votes" or there will be a number if there are votes for that pic. Click on that to cast your vote.

OK, tried it again after Mal's explanation. First time I clicked on the pics, didn't even see the little clickable 'vote' box under the thumbnail!!
Works fine, only let me vote once.

Hi all
The joke is - having set up the album - I'm the only one who can't see the "Vote" box!

Dave - do you have the option to change your vote?

I voted for three - and then tossed in a couple of duplicate votes. My ISP Number showed up on the votes, but not the callsign. Wonder if you get many duplicate ISP's?

It wouldn't let me vote at all.

At the moment we've just LOST three votes! The count is lower than a few minures ago. Did anybody delete their vote?

I tried to vote 3 times. One click was the 2779 maachi cockpit, one other was the 2779 cockpit paint. Not sure what the other click was.

I was only able to vote once. I was also only able to see my own vote and not a total of all votes

Hehehe....okay..... The system is smarter than us all I think. When you first arrive on the page it will not show ANY votes counted. It only shows which pics have what votes AFTER you click on the "VOTE" link underneath the THUMBNAIL. That's right...you can stop looking for a vote button/link on the enlargement page.
hehe...it took me a few hours to realize this as well.
Jim
PS: You can "clear your vote" and then again all votes will disappear until you vote again.

I logged on with my wifes account and voted but thought it strange that the admin functions (open, close, reset) were listed as well. I tried reset and sure enough it did so that is why one batch of voting went away. I realized she is currently setup as an admin account on another site (which is giving her admin access in gallery). So I put her back in the regular user group went back voted again and now I only see the 1 vote I made. All the other say 0 which is probably the way it should work.
Hope that helps.

No....scratch that it does display the vote totals to normal users provided they have voted.
Same for admins too...you have to vote before you can see totals.

Well, I'm happy to report.... that this nitwit actually figured it out..... :-) :-) :-)
I voted... or thought I did, but all I did was look at the larger photo, then left a comment....
after several times/tries... and reading this thread, I figured it out.
It let me vote, it let me change vote, it let me vote again, after changing votes. And I could only see the vote total after I voted.

Merlin,
It worked fine. I was only able to vote once and it was counted. I then removed the vote and it worked as well. Henk I did not have to log in separate on the gallery either.

Hi everyone
Thanks for taking the time to try this test out. I've closed the vote and the result that I see is:
27779Mustang_2 got 3 votes, all the rest got 1.
Can you check you see the same totals and also try again to vote - let's make sure "closed" really means closed.
Thanks again and all the best
Rowan

Same here at 12.30 U.K time. Also was unable to vote again, so the poll appears closed.
13.45, Mustang 3 votes, Albatross 2 votes, Macchi cockpit 0 votes, everything else 1 vote. Will check again later.

23:15 Australian Eastern Standard Time 2 votes to the mustang and 2 to the Albatross all the rest have 1 each. Unable to vote - if voting is by clicking on the votes score under each thumbnail - so it must be closed here.
