Hi AJ

My Gekko has miraculously transformed into a Defiant! - it's a bit more manageable for me than a twin at the moment. I've taken it to work so I can do a bit of the clean-up work during quiet moments.

Who knows? - At this rate I might even end up finishing it!

All the best

Hi Harry

This is an informal Group Build, not an official Campaign - so there's no sign-up, as such.

Just join and post your progress in this thread.

All the best

it's not an official campaign, this is a group build, so you can plug away at your leisure!

To get you all excited here is my P-61, "Times A Wastin" that I finished today.

Thanks Rowan,
I will have to see what I have on my shelf that would qualify.. I might just have to compete with MAL on the He-219.. But, I don't know if that is a good thing, or a bad thing..

Would a P-38M count? It was developed as a night fighter during WW2 but I do not believe it saw any service.

Yes Rob you can. some P-38M's did see service at the very end of the war, along with a few P-38L's that were converted into P-38M's

Hi Baron!

I wondered where you've been! I'm circling in the spanish sky since days... how is your Messer going?

My Gotha P60C is ready to start... Er! Wait! I hope Luft'46 kits are allowed... What do you say boss?

Jean-Luc

PS Your "Black Widow" is a good appetizer for us. Miam! Miam! I like it!

Hi

I may build something as well......this seems to be a cool plane to build:

Dragon has a HE-219 kit......is this a good kit?

Sorry Ted, your Gotha P-60 doesn't count. Only Aircraft that saw service (i.e. In production, in use, or deployed to an actively serving squadron) between 1939 and Cessation of hostilities for the ETO, May 7th 1945; PTO, August 15th, 1945 (which I'll fudge to Sept. 2nd, 1945 when the surrender was signed).

Martin, Dragon makes a HE-219 Uhu in 1/72, and Tamiya makes one in 1/48th.

As we're not competing I'd say it would be a good thing, we can compare notes
Progress:
I have opened the box and once again drooled at the contents. I have taken a look through the Aires cockpit instructions, looks straight forward. I have had a glance through my references which consist of a couple of magazine articles and the pics posted here by Martin The model has been placed on my modelling bench.

I will build an Italeri F6F-5N Hellcat in 1/72. Unfortunately can't find any pictures of one in Fleet Air Arm markings so USN it will have to be.

Martin

Have the Dragon He219A-7 in my stash. Detail looks crisp no flash, inculdes PE details don't know about the fit of parts though.

Hi there

Judging by the number of He 219s being suggested, I reckon we should have a real Uhu Fest!

This Walkaround should help all you '219-ers.

All the best

Hi all!

I found this one... (note the night blue overall color of the picture)

I start it soon as I'm finished with My Grumman Goose, Gotha P60C (I'll do it even so ), Schwimmwagen Typ166, Bugatti 100P ... ...

I never had different project on the go at the same time before joining in here! I think I caught the Armorama virus

This might just turn into the He-219 GB!!!! (just kidding)

BTW Mal,
I have always been a BIG fan of your work, so the idea of "competition" would be a mute point anyways.. I will actually be using your build as a "measuring stick", so it will help if you keep a VERY detailed log of what you do and how you do it..
