Hi everyone,
It's been call many things including the Electric Jet, Falcon, Viper and Lightning. Without a doubt it is one of the most common aircraft of the modern age. Flying for no less than 24 countries and numerous branches of service.
They're battle proven and sure to be in service for decades to come. They have an incredible variety of armament to hang from them. The combinations of markings and paint scheme's can satify just about anyones taste.
My proposal is simple;
June 1st through Dec 31st 2006,
Any scale, any nation, sub type, stand alone, dio or vignette
(Anything goes as long as the focus is an F-16).
To help convince your taste buds here is a list of countries that use the F-16.
Total delivered or on order as of 2005:
United States Air Force: 2507 (some sold to other countries)
United States Navy: 40
Other air forces: 2401
Royal Bahraini Air Force: 22
Belgian Air Force: 160
Chilean Air Force: 10+18
Danish Air Force: 78
Egyptian Air Force: 220
Hellenic Air Force: 170
Royal Jordanian Air Force: 24
Indonesian Air Force: 10
Israeli Air Force: 382
Italian Air Force: 34
Royal Netherlands Air Force: 213
Royal Norwegian Air Force: 72
Royal Oman Air Force: 12
Pakistan Air Force: 40
Polish Air Force: 48
Portuguese Air Force: 45
Republic of Singapore Air Force: 60
Republic of China (Taiwan) Air Force: 150
Republic of Korea Air Force(ROKAF): 180
Royal Thai Air Force: 61
Turkish Air Force: 240
United Arab Emirates Air Force: 80
Venezuelan Air Force: 24
Total number manufactured: 4,426
I need 10 good volunteers to step up to bat! Then I will submit the Campaign proposal.
I'm confident people will have fun if this build is accepted by the staff.
What say you gentlemen, is my idea off base? Who is willing to enlist?
Sincerely,
Brian

I would be interested. Got a Tamiya 1:32 F-16 with Norwegian markings for an OEF bird and a correct tail.
...and we don't have 72 F-16s anymore. I think the number now is 57.

sounds good.
When i was young I made a Belgian F-16 tiger. But it wasn't very nice. So I want to buy a new one and remake it.

I am interested as I will hopefully clear some work by then. If I do I have to build the Tamiya 1/32 F16, with the Isradecal conversion to an IAF model.
Keep us upto date.

Well, I'm not that great of an aircraft builder, but I did get one as a Christmas present last year. If you guys don't mind amateurs in this one, I'd be interested in getting it built...(I'm sure the sister-in-law will appreciate it.)

Oh go on then, i have always liked the F16.
Also i have only 2 campaigns lined up for the second half of the year .
Anyone know a good 1/48 kit, preferably one with a ton of ordinance hanging from it ?

Hi Andy,
Thanks for joining up!
In my opinion I think the Academy F-16C has lots to hang under it for the money. The Hasegawa F-16 Wild Weasel has ordinance but their other kits need the individual weapons sets to beef them up.
Sincerely,
Brian

back in the old days I would have jumped at this. I have a 1/48 Hasegawa F-16A with a Verlinden cockpit detail set. I've had it for years and always ment to build it however I now know that I probably never will. So if anyone is looking for a relatively cheap kit complete with a cheap Verlinden cockpit set then I know where to find them

I'm in!
I'd do a Texas ANG or an isreali 2 seater. or maybe one of the new export types with the conformal fuel tanks.

Not sure if I can fit it into my schedule
Would love to do an F16 again though.. perhaps a 'what-if' German one or so.

Richard and Vance,
Thank you for the support, that would put us at eight members. I submitted the proposal to Armorama staff in accordance with the rules of two months prior to the desired start date. Now we must wait and see if the campaign proposal is a go or not. Lets keep are fingers crossed
If anyone else would like to "Pre-commit" to the campaign feel free to do so. If accepted I just want everyone to have fun with it. I have not built an F-16 since I was alot younger and skinnier
Sincerely,
Brian

I'm already building an F-16 for the "duel" campaign, and I guess there is some sort of rule against entering one model in two campaigns?

Hi Grant,
Thank you for your response. As I mentioned the campaign build is not "Official" at this time only proposed.
It's really frowned on my the membership to build a model for other than the original campaign you enlist for. I do support that position.
Many others on this site including myself have built models that could have qualified for more than one build at the same time but in my opinion "It's not in the spirit of the build"
That said you are more than welcome to "Pre-Commit" and build another F-16 if you desire. Thank you again for your interest.
Hi Frank,
Terrific! thank you for the heads up on the 1/72 scale kits. I don't have much experience with them I build mostly 1/48 props. A current change for me I'm almost finished with a 1/144th B-52 from Revell for the "Welcome to the Nam" campaign.
I really would like to build more jets and I just aquired a Two Bobs decals sheet for 1/48th F-16 that has a Sharks Mouth. So I probably would go 1/48th for this build. But shelf space is steadily getting smaller. Thank you for the support and the info.
Sincerely,
Brian

Hi Brian, I thought that might be the case. I've just returned to modelling, and only ever done one campaign before, and that was a couple of weeks ago!
That said, I think I'll pre-commit to this campaign as well with a different F-16.
Grant

Hi Frank,
Box art on both is nice but if it was me I think the "B" with the Tigers head would be the one to do
