Great job on the Frank Leon
The base and the figure add to a really nice display.
Quality decals look great when applied properly but I really like the look of painted on markings. That really came out nice.
You mention a tutorial on figure painting by John17. Where is that at for I would like to check that out myself?
Great modeling

Very Nice Leon. Your Frank has given me a fresh new appreciation for WWII Japanese aircraft. Nice work on the figure and base too

Thanks Wayne and David. For some reason I really like the japanese wwii planes. I have a few zeros coming in the near future (I hope).
Wayne, the painting tutorials are below. I didn't actually use oil for the face since it was 1/48, but hope to try it out in the future - maybe on my 1/32 zero figure. Anyway, I hope they help; they sure helped me... PS: Working on the martlet now. At my pace, I'll finish 11:50, December 31
but I'll finish...

Hi guys,
I'm very, very sorry for not being around the last couple of months. I've had two deaths in my family since October and also work has still kept be away from home too often. I have the next 4 days off from work so I'll try to finish my Lightning. Again, I'm sorry for the delay. I realize I've let you guys down on this one.

Hermon,
I am really sorry to hear your sad news. Please don't feel bad about this. Take care of all that you need to do, and if you get to your lightning that is great, if not, that's is great too. My prayers are with you and your family.

Leon, Jean-Luc,
Thanks for the kind words and support guys. We've had a rough time here in the past few months and I'm glad that I have the next 4 days to work on these models to help take my mind off things.
Anyways, here is an update picture (better late than never).
I still have a couple days worth of touch-ups to do and some minor decal work. The decals in this kit are probably the hardest thing I've encountered so far. Anyways, here is where she stands now.

Looks good Hermon. For me Hasegawa decals are kind of hit or miss - sometimes they work great and other times they have wrinkled during decal sol and then never unwrinkled. I'm sorry the kit was difficult and hope you at least learned some things from building it. I hope all is well and would be glad to build with you in the future

Hi Hermon!
That's fantastic! Congratulations for finishing your model!
I really think you are too hard on yourself. Looking at the pictures I don't think the model was above your skill level. And like Leon said, with every new model you learn something...
One more to add to the finished list! Thanks Hermon!

Hi,
Sad to hear about the deaths in your family.
Your model is a nice one!!
I'm busy with finishing mine right now, and noticed the decals have silvering.
I'll post pictures of it later today.
