Hopefully i will get it together. The story is that I have to leaving town in the middle of November. The company I work for will start a new supermarket in Stockholm, so I will be away from the computer and my hobbybench the last two weeks in Nov. So there is some midnigth oil burning here. The family is not happy nowadays, they just see me when the paint is drying up :-) Gladly they will find the tranquility when I´m of. At least thats what they say

Hi Stephen

for me meeting the dead line will be a very difficult task ... I have so many battlefields, that I am not sure if I can make it .. I sure will try (other close-run things are Bombers and FUMS, so the eyes were larger as the mouth (as my grandma always used to say, hope this does make sense in English)

If I do not succeedI hope I am the only one so we will see a lot of beautiful eduard kits built!

thanks for the nice contest

cheers

Steffen

I am quite a fair way along on the weekend edition Pfalz DIII.a, so I'm hoping to have a contender by the deadline.

I was hoping to enter the Hanriot, but an error in shipping, which is still unfortunately trying to get resolved, made me go with my next choice.

There are two modifications that I am making to the kit. One is the addition of the hoses to the radiator. Second is the detailing of the propeller plate (sorry, don't know the technical term) seeing as Buttlar flew without the nose cone.

I'll try to take some pictures soon.

Stephen, pardon my forgetfulness, but are in progress photos encouraged or are you only looking for finished shots?

Thanks!

John

Hello John, You have a total of six allowable images. They can be whatever you think will show your kit off best. Your choice. Six ...and six only.

These images ;
- a) must show overall details, images must not be modified or altered.
- b) cannot be photos of actual aircraft & /or modified or altered photos
This is prohibited & shall disqualify the entrant.
- c) prove your statements about your build. Such as "this item is scratchbuilt..."

Hi
The kit is Eduards Nieuport 17 profipac no 8033. The extras on this are. The topwing did get new ribs in opening. The opening is covered in transparent food wrapping. The seat was reworked in plasticard. The interior got some extra details as control wires (made of hot stretched sprues) and instrument gauges from Eduards DH-2 decal.
The wingtapes was done with the incorrect Lozenge decals from Eduards Albatros W4.
The marking is the kit option of Raoul Lufberys 1844 machine.
The silver dope is mixed from Humbrols. The rigging is my usual technique.
It’s a nice kit
Lars

That sure is serious competition! Very nice build!

Mmh, I have a small problem this week. My Brisfit is finished by now, but it is getting towards wintertime over here in Holland. So when there's daylight I am at work. As soon as I am home it's dark of course. So far I have not found a satisfying way to make pic's with my (cheap) camera by artificial light. I will work out something

Hello,

Hereby my built, it is a 1/48 Bristol Fighter Profi pack (contains Dutch Markings), together with two Eduard figures from the RFC personnel. My assumption for the flying suite is, is that it was interned together with the aircraft. The pilot itself is of course Dutch.

The model is completely hand painted, no Airbrush. Paint used was Humbrol. The PC 10 was a mixture of dark earth with black and a little dark green. In the end varnished with a mixture of Citadel mat and gloss.

This is my first WW1 aircraft in Dutch markings. Probably my last, I prefer versions used on The Western Front. A Brisfit in it’s original markings is more appealing to me. I did not add the machine guns, cause all pictures I saw of this Brisfit were without them.

I considered the kit complex, but a great joy to build. I took me longer, cause of the many struts and extensive wiring. For wiring I used all my methods: 0,18 mm steel wire, glued with woodglue, fishing line and “knitting in plastic” . The last mentioned is great stuff but very hard to put more then one line in a hole.

My entry is Eduards, 1/48 Weekend edition Albatros D.V. Built OOB, so no P.E, one set of decals and fairly easy to build.
Rowans "easy wood grain" technique was used for the interior. Tamiya acrylics, Revell enamels, Mr Color acrylics, Alclad 2 and Winsor and Newton poster and oil paints were used.
Fishing line was used for the rigging.
Albatros D.V, 4629/17, Jasta 5, February 1918, flown by Hans Von Hippel.

After several long hard looks we finally came to a decision.
The winner of the Aeroscale Early Aviation contest for 2006.

Congratulations "Repainted",
The judging was tight with the winner's total score only one point more than the next greater score. The total possible points were 48. Lars' Nieuport 17 had 39.

Thanks Nico
I´ll liked your Bristol fighter very much. In the beginning I was thinking about the Bristol Figther, but the Nieuport was a better kit, I have built it before.

Andy´s Albatros is a really nice build too.
My hats off for you guys, nice builds

And last
Thanks Judges

If there is interests I´ll will do a feature on the build.
