Just a question for those who have been doing this far longer than I. What is the best way to show weight on the tires--I have seen the hot iron trick and the sand flat trick--any one got anything else that looks better?
Thanks

SkyWrench, first of all let me welcome you to the best site on the web.
I use both methods but tend to prefere the iron best. The trick with the iron is not to have it to hot, just enough to warm the plastic so that when you apply pressure you get the flat, but more importantly the slight bulge. I have been toying with the idea of drilling into or even removing a section of tyre, internally,so there is less plastic to heat. The theory is that the effect should be easier to control. Haven't tried it yet though, maybe I should and report back.
I've not heard of any other methods, nor can I think of any. :-)

Those are the two 'scratch' methods I've heard about. The only other way I have head is After Market parts.
I like the hot iron one myself - the sanding one leaves the tire unnaturally flat with no bulge.
