Seeing as the forums are so quiet at the moment Id thought Id start this one.
What are you working on at the moment?
Just finished?
Planning on starting next?

Ive just finished my entry for Duel In The Sky.Nothing in progress at the moment as Im off on tour again on Monday and also buying a house,so modelling will have to wait a few weeks until Im moved in.
Im planning on starting a Tamiya P47 if the Down Low and Strafing Campaign gets the go ahead,,which it looks like it will,,and maybe a biplane or two to get me back into it. Ive also bought a 120mm pilot figure to work on while Im away touring.
Sound off guys and girls.....
Whats happening on your workbenches?

Good idea Nige, it is very quiet. I've just finshed this, in 1/144.

and am working on a "beat up" C-47 dio suggested by our fearless leader Merlin and forgive me an Armor Dio both in 1/72.

Nige- That is one nice figure you've picked there, WOW.

I did that Dio of mine in 1/144 because of the size of a C-54 in any other scale :-) It's intended as a gift to my son. The scene "depicted" is inspired by a photo my Dad left me, that's him walking away from the wreck (Berlin Airlift 1948).

As to 1/144 figures Preiser has a good selection they duplicate most of what they have in 1/72nd in 1/144.

Hi Nige!

Perhaps everybody is actually building on something?
I do agree with you, It´s very quiet here tonight.

Anyway here´s my workbench status report!

Tamiya Lancaster 1/48; In the paintshop
Trumpeter A-7E 1/32; In the paintshop too
Tamiya Meteor MkI; Also in the paint shop
Dragon F/A-18E Superhornets 1/144, 2 kits ready for paint

A bit crowded in the paintbooth for now! :-)

HiPM Arado 196 1/48; filling, sanding, sanding, sanding....

Trumpeter SBD-5 Dauntless 1/32, just started the build, wonderful kit!
Revell SH-3H Seaking 1/48, soon ready for the paintshop

Tamiya USS Fletcher 1/350, halfway trough the build
Revell "FUCHS" 1/35, just started

As soon as i get home I´ll give some updates on the Lanc, Arado and my big Trumpeter Me262 that i completed last week.

I bought the new Italeri A-10A Thunderbolt II, or the "Warthog" in 1/48.
A very nice kit that will be my build for the "Low down and strafing" campaign.

Well, that´s all for tonight!

Cheers!

good to see you managed to sneak that war of the worlds kit past SWMBO Phil :-)

Chuck.
The figure I picked up for £12 I think at Telford,,someone was selling them off. It will be a very interesting excercise.

There is nothing on my workbench at the moment (apart from a mess, that i must really tidy up :-) ).
The reason I'm not starting anything is because I'm waiting for this

I know its not a plane, but i saw one at Telford and instantly fell in love with it. Now I'm just waiting for it to be delivered along with a P.E set for it .

Thanks for starting the forum Nigel. Construction of the Tamiya Skyraider continues. Should be attaching the weapons soon. I used stretched sprue for the fuse wires on the MK 82s. Thanks for looking, Wingman out.

Wingman, I have to say I really like your modeling area. It looks really cozy. I could definitely see spending many hours at such a nice bench Nice work on the skyraider too.

CRS, Are there more pictures of your dio posted? I obviously missed it, but would really like to see more. It looks really good.

Lampie, Really cool looking figure. What kind of paint are you going to use to paint it?

Personally, I am working on a Wildcat conversion to a martlet for a duel. It is almost at the point where I might be able to put some primer on to find all the mistakes I am sure I have made . Also in progress, but actually boxed up for right now, I have my 1/48 thunderbolt and a 1/48 corsair at various stages of completion.

Hi all!

Nige, sometimes I Can´t keep up with myself!
It´s far too easy to start a kit, much harder to finish anything! :-)

Actually, I have some more kits "almost started", but they will have to wait some time.... :-)

But I do like to have several kits to work on, as I can make more efficient use of my modelling time and I like the diversity(?).

I have a large room in the basement, so I do have a lot of space!
Too much perhaps! :-) :-)

Your Me109 looks really good, nice model!

Chuck:

Your dio is great, even if small in scale!

I´m on a borrowed ´puter now so I don´t have access to my pics here.
Will post something as soon as I get home.

Cheers!

wingman - great skyraider. Makes me want to get mine on the workbench.

I just got Tamiya's Buffalo and I think I'm going to get that one going first. Get my feet wet with a smaller less complex build first.

Hi Nigel!

Here's my Status report:
I just finished my Potez 631 for the Duel campaign. You know, the plane you chased while flying backwards! :-)

I've started my last project for this year: Flying Machine's 1/48 Fiat G.50 in Finnish markings for the FUMS campaign. Not much done yet:

I have some projects for the next year, mainly dioramas. I will continue to work with Marc Toillié and help him with his new Mark58 products. Maybe we will work together on some dios to show them at model meetings. I also want to finish my Bugatti 100P resin kit. This is my priority in 2007!

I also have a special project which is secret!

My workbench and related area look more like Kaos and Mayhem are in control, but as I usually take the 3 months at this time of year to complete my own model projects, that constantly gather in an unfinished state.

These two 'Twins and the Swordfish floatplane on the workshop desk, are a priority to complete:

The following I hope to get to the completed assembly and ready to paint stage:

Whew. There's a lot of styrene out there, waiting to be joined.

After I got my P 51 for the Suez campaign ready, I just had to resume the waiting one. It's going to be four shades of the same plane.

This one is in the "poor mans NMF". Silver spray from the local gas station, with picked out panels, brushed with Model Master Acryl silver. I hope the paints don't get angry with each other. By the way! If anybody know who might make Big Beautiful Doll-checker decals in 1:48, I'd be happy for any tip.

Next one is waiting, waiting, waiting. It's the old mould CR42 from Classic A's, which will be a Swedish J11. I'm making mottle masks with overhead film, in which I punch holes with old bent 5.56 Nato empty shells. I think it will turn out nice. Anyway, the engine and cockpit was a blast to make, but everything else need far more patience. We'll see if she's finished by my retirement. The plan is to build all possible swedish prop-fighters in 1:48, but that might take a while.

On top of that I just bought seven differnent Bf 109's (B through G-6) and can't wait to get them in the house.
