Hi Steffen:
I started with my Spitfire Mk I (Tamiya) in 1/48. Up to now I finished the cockpit and glued the fuselage.
For the seat belts I used Paper Masking Tape and lead foil.
Here are some pics:
How is your health ? Are you better ?
Regards.

Thanks Leon.
Today I´ve finished the asembly of the wings and glued them to the fuselage. The undersides worked fine, but rare thing in a Tamiya Spit, I had a little gap in the join of the starboard wing with the fuselage (sure it was my fault). I filled it with Tamiya epoxy putty. Tomorrow I´ll sand the join and I´ll apply an overall coat of Mr. Surfacer 1200. I´ll post some pics

Hi Carlos!
Looks very good so far! Can't wait to see more pictures... Are you trying to model a whole Spitfire and Mosquito Squadron?

Hi Jean Luc:
Thank you.
Today I´ll post more pics. Spitfire & Mosquito are the AC that I like the most. I believe that for the next one or two years I´ll be building mostly Spits & Mossies. Not bad idea a full Sqn of Spitfires and Mosquitoes
Thank you.

Hi Carlos!
In the next couple of weeks I will build a RAF dispersal diorama with some Mark58 products. I'm sure you're going to like it! I just wait for a reference book to arrive ("British Military Airfield Architecture" by Paul Francis) and I will give it a go. For sure your models would look fantastic in such a dio!

Hi Jean Luc.
That sounds great, sure I´ll like it. You´re models look fantastic, and in a dio they will look even better Will it be 1/48 ?
I´m also thinking in building some RAF figures so I can use them with some of my Spits and Mossies. I bought the a couple of ICM sets of RAF Pilots they include also with some ground personel and a dog. They look ok.
Can´t wait to see the dio´s pics.

Hi all:
Today there is some progress to show. The wing - fus join was sanded and I gave the bird an overall coat of Mr. Surfacer. Udersides painted with Sky (Humbrol) and the port wing with Mate Black (Humbrol). This will be a Spitfire of 92 Sqn. November 1940.

Hello all:
I was able to progress in my building this week. Now the Spit is fully painted with camo finished. I used Model Master Enmals for the upersides and Humbrol Enamels for the udersides.
Colours for camo = RAF Dark Green - Dark Earth. First I painted the Dark earth base and after the RAF Dark Green.
For the tires I used a mix of Antracitgrau and a touch of black. Letters (Dunlop) were dry brushed with a Carandache pencil (light grey). In the landing gears I applied a wash of chalk powder diluted with tupertine.
On Saturday when everything will be dry I´ll apply Future and began with the decaling. I´m planning to build a couple of figures (ICM - RAF Pilots & Ground Personel - dog included) and present a little dio. )
Advices and critiques are welcome.
I forgot the last picture.
Acrylic box to exhibit the dio.

Hi Carlos!
This looks very good so far! And there is even a diorama!
The model looks great and I'm looking forward to the finished base with the figures. Did you build the transparent display box?
Jean-Luc

Thank you Jean - Luc:
I buit the base and bought the box in an accrylic shop that makes all kind of things with acrylic. I keep all my finished models in this boxes. I have two sizes, for one kit and for two kits 1/48.
Regards.

Hi Jean:
In this size (single kit) I pay u$s 9.-
Double size u$s 15.-
It´s an extra cost that you have per each model, but with this boxes you can preserve them for ever from dust and stranger hands , particulary as in my case that I have an open shelf.
I build them in only those two sizes and one is exactly the double of the other one (in length only, same depth, same heigh) so if you don´t have a shelf, you can pile them without problem.
Regards.

Today I bought the Citroën 11 CV from Tamiya. I´ll use it in the dio. I guess that this French little car was in England too in 1940. It´s very nice

Hi Carlos
I made little progress because I am really short of time. I hope to do some work next week, but I am not sure if I can ... and there are some days after Xmas to finish it .. furthermore Jean-Luc is a nice guy so I bet I would get a day or two to finish it off if necassary.
I have not much to post .. the pit got some colour, but thats it .. luckily the Bf 109 is not a really complex a/c .. one reason why it was last on my to do in 2006 list ..
Still intend to finish the George (88% done), Bf 109 (15%) and the Buffalo (for FUMS, no idea about the status because it is a CA kit where pitfalls lurk around every corner)
We'll see if it works out ...
I have given up Bombs away .. chose the wrong kit for that .. did I ever mention that the Trumpeter Fw 200 is crap
I do not think the Traction Avant was used in GB ... they are driving their cars from the wrong seat .... better try to get one of the new AccArmour models for british air fields
best wishes
