Hi.

After building armour for a long time I´m thinking of building some aircrafts again as a change from all the sandcolour and olive drab. It can be fun to build something with a bit brighter colours.

My question is as follows:

Trumpeters 1/32 scale kits, how are they? Which one is to recommend? This is going to be my first large scale project. All my previous have been in 1/72 and 1/48.

All help appreciated.

hi

IMO trumpeter's latest large-scale a/c kits are just awesome and very good value for money... I myself got the 1/32nd me262 which is a very nice kit... here's a review at cybermodeller.com:

Me262

i think their latest mig-29s and SBD dauntless are quite good too..

Nice kits. I got myself the ME 262 at a really nice price.

If you would like to participate in one of the campaigns coming up, you could go for some tank busters from WWII or planes used in the Vietnam war.

Hejsan Torbjörn!

Trumpeter´s Me262 Is a good kit, but not an easy build!

I had some trouble with the fit, as did Fred here on Aeroscale.

Please read his review first;

https://aeroscale.kitmaker.net//features/911

We had the same troublespots so we blame the kit for this!

In my opinion, Trumpeters best kits so far Is the TBM Avenger, SDB Dauntless, MiG-3, A-7 Corsair II and the Wyvern in 1/48.
All those kits are nice, easy and troublefree builds.

Cheers!

If you go for the Corsair II you could participate in the upcoming Vietnam campaign. There should also be some rather nice camouflage and marking options. However, I do not know what options are included in the box.

If you go for the ME 262 A2 (the one with the bombs) you could participate in the tank busting campaign. However, if you go for the A1 version this will not be possible as it does not carry bombs.

Best regards

Hi There, about to start their A-10 Thunderbolt, overall i find that the kit looks fantastic but i had to agree with the critics when it came to the cockpit - IT STINKS.The ejector seat is the only part worth keeping so i had to invest in the Verlinden resin set and the Eduard pre-painted control panel to save it (just got ot figure out how to get them all to fit together !!)
Also bought the Experts Choice decal sheet because i want to make Paul Johnson`s A-10 from desert storm.

Having built two of Trumpeters kits, A-10 and F-105, I have to say they went together well. Yes a few small problems here and there but that’s what makes us modelers right! I agree that the cockpits lack very much in detail but most often we change them out anyways. Also to consider are their Helicopter kits,

CH-47A Chinook
Mi-4 Hound
Mi-8MT/Mi-17 Hip H
Mi-24V Hind E

Trumpeter is also (supposedly) releasing theses kits in 2008,

A-4E Skyhawk
A-6A Intruder
A-6E Intruder
AV-8B Harrier II (early)
F-100F Super Sabre
F6F-3 Hellcat
F6F-3N Hellcat
F8F-1 Bearcat….Mar-08
F8F-1B Bearcat
F8F-2 Bearcat
Me 262B-1a/U1.…Dec-07
P-40E Kitty Hawk
P-40M Kitty Hawk
P-40N Kitty Hawk
P-47D Bubbletop Thunderbolt….Nov-07
P-47D Thunderbolt (late)
P-47N Thunderbolt
P-51B/C Mustang III….Jan-08
Su-27UB Flanker C
Su-30MMK Flanker
TBD-1 Devastator
