This is a 1/72 Revell Kit. I bought 2 of these and this is the fisrt one. I've done it as a clean model. It was all OOB except the cockpit seats. The ones witht the kit have no detail at all. I couldn't find any sites that said what type of seat they had on the real thing. In the end I opted for an Aces II seat which fitted the kit nicely.
I added the belts myself using tamiya masking tape and think it came out ok for my first attempt at scratch building.
.
The kit is simple to make with few parts. This was also my fisrt attempt at tinting the canopy. The instructions said the rear section should be blue tint but at the time I could find a clear blue paint so used a mix of Tamiya smoke with future. It's wasn't a good as I wanted but again was my first attempt
All in all i'm quite pleased with my effort and the wife even liked it and she hates planes.
Please leave your comments or tips and thanks for looking.
Off to have a go at my 1/48 Revell Eurofighter.

Outstanding! Looks like a really clean build. 1/72 is way to small for me and I tip my hat to those of you can make it work and look good.

Where are all those bombs? Just returning from a sortie?
Thanks for sharing

Great looking plane. I have had good luck using Future mixed with food coloring to tint windows.

Thanks for the comments. Jesper in answer to your questions. I wanted to put bombs on it but the kit doesn't come with any. I did research the plane a bit and it was mostly used as a spotter for the single seat versions to have all the fun hence the empty bomb racks. I did lok for some after market bomb sets but couldn't seem to find any from the vietnam era and so i left it empty. I got the model as a set of two so the next one may have some weapons on it if I can find them.

Hello Chris,
Nice work on the Skyraider. I remember building the same kit when I was about ten (many moons ago) I thought this would be of inertrest as well. This is not mine but was present at a model show in Utah. I was impressed with how it turned out yours and this came out light years better than my attempt.
Sincerely,
Brian

Nice build. Looks good. Maybe a tad of exhaust staining?
