Excellent workmanship throughout the progress on your Me 410 looking forward to seeing this one completed.
I have the old 48 scale ProModeller Me 410B-1 kit, that has only the RLM 66 primer completed at present.

Here we go. After a coat of Tamiya gloss i started with decaling. Everything was going well, until i started (tried to) to place those wing stripped decals. They were way too short, and some of them didn't even come of the backing paper even after soaking for an hour or so. So I had to paint them. Lots of masking, but the result is well worth the work. Now i can continue with decaling.

Hi Gregax!
You are crazy! :-)
But the end result looks great!
I wonder if there are letraset like replacements for these German Luftwaffe walkways stripes? The decals are always a real pain to apply and never look right...

Thats not crazy,,thats how it should be done!
I agree Jean Luc,,those decals never seem to look right and painting them has got to be the way to go.
Your 410 is looking great Gregax. I love the work youve done on the cockpit and your attention to detail overall is excellent.Gives me something to aspire to.
Looking forward to seeing it finished.
A candidate for MOQ I believe!

Wow! Very impressive. Very cool, but time consuming way to get those walkstripes right. They look really great.
Looking forward to see more

Thanks for comments. My wife said, and I qoute: "ok, you are definetly grown for mental institution"
Those walkway decals are allways pain in the [auto-censored], so i guess making some kind of cut-out templates from masking paper should sell like hot bagels. I hope someone from Eduard is reading this...... but I want some % from profit. :-)

Hi Gregax!
Eduard could even make some PE masks for this as the surface is flat. I would definitely buy a set!

Decaling is done. No problems here, Microset & sol combo take care of everything. After decals dried for a day, i faded them down with thinned camouflage color, then i mixed brown-black mix and sprayed it randomly across the plane. That gives some contrast to the uniform looking base colors. Next, oils and some more weathering. Comments are welcome (as usually).

A wonderful looking model indeed. Makes me want to build one in 72 scale. Painting the red wing walk areas was really well done. Keep up the good work. Take care. Russell

What? I hope the pictures were published here first! :-)
Jokes aside Gregax your model looks fantastic! I always liked the Me 410 because I think it's a beautiful looking plane, although it wasn't really successfull. But that's not the case of your model, it will probably have a lot of success once finished!

I've started ma next built, a Me-410 hornisse from revell-monogram. In 1/48 of course. When oppening a box, the parts look good, dryfit is ok, but i've decided to add some more details to that excellent model. Of course, it has it's flaws (engine
gondoles, air scoops etc), but it's hard to tell when everything is completed. Here are the parts i will be using:
I started off with riveting the entire fuselage and wings portions, and I cut off the plastic parts were the Aires wheelbays were later installed with no problems. I also did some setailing in the radiators section, i opened the cooler's flaps at the top potrions of the wings and I filled the gaps with styrene.

Great kit choice. Your rivets are to be ENVIED by all. Very nice affect.
keep up the excellent work and keep us posted. Cheers

DONE and FINISHED.
After decalling I applied wash of artists oils, then a flatcoat followed and finally all the small parts were glued on. I hope you like it.

Hi Gregax
great model!!!
What finish did you apply flat or semi gloss? The pictures make it look glossy, but I guess it is not. Tthis is no criticism, I just want to know ... maybe you can shoot a picture outside without artificial lighting?
best wishes

Hi Gregax!
Fantastic job! This must be published on Aeroscale as a Photo Feature or a Build Feature... you can choose! :-)
The finish may appear a little glossy but I think it looks better than an overall matt finish. Plastic models are small and don't reflect light as good as the original 1:1 scale subjects. Try to take good pictures of a model with a matt finish! I usually prefer to do my models shinier than the real aircraft.
Anyway, your 410 looks great! The wheel bays are fantastic and I just love those spinners!
