G'day,

Apart from a selection of builds I previously mentioned, I have the following that I could select another subject from.

J1N1 Gekko - Late Production [Irving]
J1N1 Gekko - Early Production
M6A1 Seiran
'Jack'

I plan to build these nominated subjects below, as my choice for this campain.

J1N1 Gekko
J7W1 Shinden
Ki 46 Dinah [ATAIU-SEA] markings
Ki 61 'Tony'
M6A1 Seiran

SBD-3 Dauntless [RNZAF markings]
B339e Buffalo
P40e Kittyhawk [RAAF - Milne Bay]

Can I start building any of the subjects from my list of choices ?.
Can I add a model [RAAF Beaufighter IVf], that has already been built ?

Hi Rob,

I have not researched your complete list of models in details yet, but so far I see no problem about you entering any of these models. However, you cannot enter models that are already finished or partly finished. You should not start building your campaign entry model until the start date of the campaign.

As I understand it you want to build the entire list of models? If that is the case, you could start building some of the models. They will not qualify for the campaign, but you only need to build one model within the timeframe of the campaign to qualify for a ribbon. So you could build half the models before the campaign and the rest during the campaign timeframe

Also notice that this is only a campaign suggestion and is therefore not certain to get started for next campaign season. However, support has been very positive so far.

Hi Jesper,

Thanks for the info, it's no problem I can save an 'Irving' and a 'Sieran' for when and if this Campain gets up and running.

Can anyone tell me if the yellow wing SBD-1 went into combat? If it is, then I'll enter that. Else, I'll get me a SBD-3

Hi Carlos

I hope so, but I do not know. I have submitted the campaign, but I have not heard anything.

I guess there will be a voting at some point if there are several campaign suggestions.....

Hi Carlos and Jesper!

So far 6 Campaign proposals have been submitted for the second half of 2007. There will be indeed a vote if we have too much suggestions.

Yeah, count me in too!
Sounds interesting. And I get a chance to shrink my stash. Special hobby's British B-339 and AM's avenger can't miss the subject.

Hi all!

I´m In on this too, as I get a chance to build the Trumpeter 1/32 SBD-5 Dauntless in the tri-color cammo!

But I have to finish my F-14A (F-14 Campaign) and MiG-17F (Vietnam Campaign) builds first!

Cheers!

Hello everyone,

Jesper, count me in if this happens. I have several models for the Aleutians Theater in mind.

Sincerely,
Brian

Thanks for the support everyone! I hope this one goes ahead.

@Stefan, sounds very ineresting about the tri colour camouflage. Is it the one with the white, blue, dark blue? Or something I have not heard about before?

I think he might be referring to this kind of scheme: Click

Jesper,

Your right with the Blue/Blue/White of the US Navy tri colour cammo, it's Specular Sea Blue/ Intermadiate Blue over Insignia White, this scheme on the SBD-3 Dauntless would look like this, but minus the Royal New Zealand Air Force markings.

Remove the arester hook and enlarge the tail wheel, use an Oive Drab over Neutral Grey cammo, too convert the SBD-3 Dauntless into the A24 Banshee.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for filling me in, Rob. I thought that was the camouflage you were refering to.

@Jean-Luc/administrators: is there are date for when the possible campaigns will be put up for voting?
I would suggest to have my pacific war campaign start on the 1st July and run until 31st December. (if it is voted in as one of the campaigns for next 6 months).
This means that voting should start within a couple of weeks to ensure everybody will have a chance to vote. However, there might have been another date than 1st July set for the new campaign season?

Hi Jesper!

Eetu and Rob (Thanks guys!) got It right, that´s the scheme I was thinking of doing (or something similar, but the colors are dead on).

My Dauntless Is a -5, that´s a late war version, and that is one of my favourite schemes, so the decision was easy!

Cheers!

Hi Jesper!

There won't be necessarily a vote this time. Only 7 Campaigns have been officialy proposed so far and some are similar:
1 - Rumble in the East Asian Sky - CAMPAIGN LEADER: Jesper
2 - Defense of the Home Islands-Japan - CAMPAIGN LEADER: Russell Anderson
3 - Stars of the VVS - CAMPAIGN LEADER: Mark
4 - Falklands War - CAMPAIGN LEADER: Brian Fendley
5 - Swing-wing 2007 - CAMPAIGN LEADER: Magnus Fridsell
6 - F-16! - CAMPAIGN LEADER: Brian Fendley
7 - The Mark Sharpe Modern Aircraft Campaign - CAMPAIGN LEADER: Jim Lewis

My idea (as Aeroscale's Campaign Manager ) is to reduce the list to four Campaigns:
1 - WW2 Pacific Campaign (a mix of proposals 1+2)
2 - Stars of the VVS (1930 to 1991 - nice vintage to modern Campaign)
3 - Falklands War (1982 - good idea but will such a Campaign work? It would be interesting though)
4 - The Mark Sharpe Campaign (a mix of proposals 5+6+7)

The last one is a Campaign that was proposed last year by Jim Lewis (GunTruck) but went unoticed in the Armorama split and then the launch of Aeroscale. However I think this must be one of the next Campaigns. This is what Jim Lewis wrote about it in his proposal:
"This Campaign honors Armorama member Joe (mother) Szczygielski's son-in-law Mark Sharpe - with focus on modern Helicopters and Aircraft that Joe enjoys and models so well. All Armorama members are encouraged to participate and enter a model in memory of Mark Sharpe."

With these four Campaigns, we would have a large spectrum of possibilities except for WW1 aircraft and Luftwaffe subjects. Talking about early biplanes, maybe it would be logical to extend the Bloody April campaign until the end of the year (I have to talk to Stephen Lawson about that). About German WW2 planes... well maybe it would be a good occasion for the Aeroscale members to build something different.

Of course nothing is decided yet and I expect some feedback from you. Maybe I should start another thread to discuss this?

Well, that sounds like a great idea, Jean-Luc. I would participate in three of the campaigns for sure and maybe also the Falklands war campaign although it seems like the modelling possibilities seem a little limited.

Hi Patrick and Rob!

So far it only has been discussed here... The Pacific Campaign will probably start August 1st.

I can confirm what Jean-Luc have said. This campaign will go ahead on 1st August. Hopefully we will soon see it posted in the campaign area so people can join.
I will be the campaign leader - probably in association with another Aeroscale collegue, but I have not recived the final confirmation from him on that.

Rob, maybe you could be the associated expert? Judging from the build list of your stash you have listed previously your expertise seems unrivalled on ths subject.
