Airfix have released an image of the box art for their forthcoming release of a 1/72 Folland Gnat T.I Jet Trainer
The Gnat was intended to be a lightweight fighter for the RAF but only served as the Gnat T.1 trainer variant. This was widely used and much liked by crews who then often moved onto front line duties with the English Electric Lightning.

A tiny aircraft in comparison with its contemporaries, the Gnat was used and the mount of a number of aerobatic teams, from the Yellow Jacks to the Red Arrows. Serving until 1979, the Gnat proved to be a capable and much loved trainer.

Hopefully this delightful little jet aircraft will be released very soon. How about a 1/48 version Airfix?
