Osprey has announced the first four titles that will launch their new series “Air Vanguard”. There is also a sneak preview of the five titles Osprey is going to cover early next year [2013].
There is a really nice balance to the list - a combination of the big, famous subjects that are needed to introduce a series to bookshops and general readers, mixed with a more focused range of subjects that will appeal to the more experienced aviation enthusiast. The first four titles are:
-Air Vanguard (AVG) 1 Allison-Engined P-51 Mustang (Sept 2012)
-AVG 2 Republic F-105 Thunderchief (Sept 2012)
-AVG 3 Sopwith Camel (Oct 2012)
-AVG 4 Messerschmitt Me 262 (Nov 2012)
If you go to Ospreys Blog site you will see the first illustrations of AVG 3 Sopwith Camel. They are copyrighted so I am unable to copy them for you.
Here in no particular order are titles to be released in the first half of 2013:
-Albatross D.I-D.II
-Hawker Hurricane MK I-V
-Martin B-26 Marauder
-USAF McDonnell-Douglas F-4 Phantom II
-General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark
So there you go - the first six months or so worth of Air Vanguard titles.
