Airfix continues their line of 1:72 scale model kits. Their latest release is probably the most popular German World War 2 fighter plane.
Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4
Item no. A01008
Scale: 1/72
Number of parts: 64

Reviews published on different websites reveals that the kit represents a very good quality. Airfix have definitely imroved their technology of making panel lines which are considerably lighter and more delicate in comparison to their previous kits in the same scale (say Mig-15 or P-40/Hawk-81).

An interesting feature of the kit is a three-piece canopy.

The kit has only one painting scheme representing Battle of Brittain machine of Oberleutnant Franz van Werra, Gruppen-Adjutant I/JG 3, Samer, August 1940.

I'm currently finishing up the Airfix P-40 and have a Spitfire 1A on deck. I am quite impressed with their quality, especially given the price. These are the first Airfix kits that I have built in well over 20 years.

..a distinct lack of comment appears to have greeted this news. C'mon guys, you should be buying/building these by the bucket load...my first one just about ready to leave the bench. (Aeromaster decals) New look Airfix keep on getting better and better - this is Tamiya quality at 50 % off RRP(luckily for Airfix Gaston doesn't appear to do 1:72nd. ). While they have got much better with their panel lines, they should now start doing something with the one or two tricky fit issues each of their new releases seems to throw up - not complaining though!
