On the Hobby Boss website we can find a presentation of the box content of UH-1C Huey helicopter in 1:48 scale.
Scale: 1/48
Catalogue number: 85803

The kit continues the product line of „Easy Assembly” what mean is has less parts than „normal” kits and is suggested to younger enthusiasts of our hobby. Inside the box we can find a single sprue of grey plastic with main parts, two fuselage halves and a small sprue of clear styrene with the cockpit glazing. Clear parts have a great transparency, visible even on those „not the best” pictures. There are also two sheets of decals providing markings for two effective painting options for Marines and Army Hueys.

Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.

Michal Thanks, always had a bit of a soft spot for Huey's, and with those Marine markings, looks like another to the queue(which is actually a stash).... Kevin

Thank you

It looks pretty basic and lacking in details to me. Also, the USMC decals are not accurate for a UH-1C anyways. All the USMC Hueys were E and M models, the majority with roof-mounted rescue hoists.

Oh well. It's always easier to add missing detail than to take away the wrong ones. And it's a boost to the aftermarket companies, who now have an opportunity to supply us with those missing details

I wonder if this is just a copy of the Revell kit though. Either way, if it offers some new decals I would buy it.

No, it looks to be an all-new molding. Even though the Revell kit is confused with both B and C model features, it is much more detailed than this looks. At least the old Revell/Monogram kit has separate, opening doors, separate windows, etc.

Being fair to Hobby Boss, this is from their "Easy Assembly" series, and isn't really marketed at us detail freaks This is an entry level model, designed to be put together quickly and easily to give young modellers a sense of achievement that video games still lack. The shapes look good and the parts are cleanly moulded. For we who prefer to go to town on our kits the basic canvas is provided to work our magic. For a kid doing her first model, everything necessary is right there in the box.
