New from S.B.S Model comes a superdetailed cockpit for Hasegawa's ever-popular 1:48 Messerschmitt Bf 109F.
While recent kits may have surpassed Hasegawa's Friedrich in the accuracy stakes, the kit remains a best seller on account of its easy availability and simple construction. However, that simplicity also means a rather basic cockpit, so it's great to see S.B.S Model come to the rescue with the release of a superbly detailed replacement "office".

Combining the best of each medium, the new cockpit comprises ten conventional resin parts and a clear-cast fuel line, plus over twenty five etched brass details, including a seat harness, armoured headrest and a film-backed instrument panel.

Set #40037 is available now, priced just 14 EUR.

(And in case anyone is contemplating some radical surgery to squeeze this gem of a cockpit into the excellent Zvezda kits, fear not - S.B.S Model have a similarly detailed set designed specifically for Zvezda's Friedrichs on the way too.)

My main problem is that they are only using the later seat and not providing the early seat, E model, with this set. At least the big Hasegawa kit got it (almost) right. Otherwise its a nice set.

Hi Joe The seat style matches that shown for the 'F-2 in what appears to be an original maintenance manual photo reproduced Monogram's "German Aircraft Interiors 1935-1945 Vol. 1" by Ken Merrick. All the best Rowan

True the F did use this type of seat but there were many that still used the earlier type seat. Even Marseille's plane had the early seat. Just would have been nice to have both options.

Cheers Joe That explains Monogram's own cut-away diagram in that section. They don't explain why it has the early seat... S.B.S Model are really open to feedback to ensure they offer the maximum to modellers, so I'll point them to your comments. All the best Rowan
