Neil Gaunt has sent us details of his latest ground photo-etched maintenance platform and aircraft steps kits that are due for release in time for Telford this year. Each set will be available in 1:48, 1:72 and 1:144.
"We were asked several times for maintenance platforms so we chose the B-4 for a first attempt. It will be available in 1:48, 1:72 and 1:144 and consists of a fret of etched brass, together with cast metal wheels and the hydraulic foot pump which goes on in the corner of the platform.
We have intentionally omitted the hydraulic jack below the platform in favour of an adjustable scissors on the model (except in 1:144!).
These photos were taken during assembly of the test etches - they do not include the cast metal parts. These are the assembled 1:72 and 1:48 versions - the 1:48 model is on a temporary base to lift it to normal wheel height.
-------
We have always intended to extend the range of passenger steps - the Heston steps proved very popular and were out of stock at Hannants for a long time (not now though!).
We have produced kits for two types of steps plus the portable steps which were ofter carried with the aircraft (both civil and military).
Each fret includes a miniature 30°/60° set square because it is important to get the folds of the steps exactly at 90° - something for the tool box afterwards!
These kits will be available from Hannants as usual."
Please remember, when contacting retailers or manufacturers, to mention that you saw their products highlighted here - on AEROSCALE.
