Squadron informs on their Facebook profile about new forthcoming release of Encore Models.
The announced kit will be 1:72 scale Kościuszko Albatros “Cooper”.
All we know at this moment about this kit is the boxart, published here in the header.
For those who don't know this history Merian Cooper was an American who together with Cedric Faunt Leroy formed in Polish Air Forces a squadron of American volunteers fighting against Russians in the Polish-Russian war in 1920. The squadron was equipped with Oef's 253 and Ansaldo Balilas. It was the 7th “Kościuszko” Fighter Squadron with two flights: “Kościuszko” and “Pułaski” commemorating two Polish officers. Merian Cooper was shot down and taken prisoner by the Russians. After escaping from captivity and getting back to Poland the war ended. He went back to USA and started to work in the movie business. Not many people know this but he was a producer of the first King-Kong movie in 1933 playing the role of a fighter pilot shooting to the giant gorilla in the final scenes. He also created and promoted the duo of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. During WW2 he was the chief of staff of gen. Claire Chennault in China and worked in the staff of Air Force in PTO under gen. McArthur.
