Model Rectifier Corporation have sent us details of Italeri's eagerly awaited kit of the Joint Strike Fighter:

"MRC-Italeri has released its 1/72 scale kit of the F-35A Lightning II (item #551331). This Joint Strike Fighter has it all, supersonic speed, stealth technology, advanced avionics and a formidable array of weapons.

The kit features 85 molded parts, 10 of them, including three transparent pieces, make up the positionable canopy. There is also a well executed reproduction of the F135 engine. Exterior surfaces feature finely engraved panel lines. Even the afterburner cowling has well defined details. Cockpit realism encompasses the instrumentation and a well done ejection seat. The landing gear is positionable and weapons bay doors can be built open or closed. Also positionable are the flaperons, stabilators, and rudders.

The inside of the weapons bays are neatly detailed. Accurately articulated weaponry includes two AIM-120 AMRAAMs and two GBU-31 JDAM smart bombs. Markings for five countries and two U.S. squadrons are included.
