1⁄72

Having already released several variants of the Z 226 trainer aircraft, and a couple of versions of the Avia S-199, Kovozávody Prostějov (KPM) have annouced several new kits to be released soon. All are in 1/72nd scale.
Arado Ar 96B - KPM0014
Avia C-2 - KPM0011
Letov Š-20 1.serie - KPM0016
Flights-20L Lithuania - KPM0017
Zlin Z-26 Trainer -
Zlin Z-226MS - KPM0005
Kovozávody Prostějov (KPM) were when they first released kits starting in 1968 were the Eastern Europe "Airfix". The KP for some time disappeared from the market, and was left abandoned. The original kits were no longer produced, the forms were used by other producers. . In April 2014 the "rights" to the KP trademark etc were taken over by Czechs, with the significant role of Petr Muzikant (who is the owner of AZ-Models). As you see in the new life they try to refresh the goldie-oldie kits - the Avia's S-199 is the best example of the most recognisable KP model. Of course there should be some MiG-15's and MiG-19's, Yak-23, Delfin and Albatros, MiG-21, Avia B.534, B.35, Skoda D-1 and many many more well known KP kits. The quality of the latest Avia's S-199 is a good prediction.
About the company
We are proudly managing the heritage of Czech KP model kit factory.
40 years old tradition.
Fresh brand.
New kits.
Since KP started manufacturing a few decads ago and during this time of scale modelling related technology has undergone tremendous progress, some moulding tools needs to be maintained and upgraded. The maintenance of several injection moulding tools had already began to achieve crystal-clear transparent parts, nicely engraved panel lines & raised rivets and remove pebbly and/or irregular surfaces where it’s necessary and possible. In addition, we’re planning to pack exciting and never released paint schemes and marks into new KP boxes.
The KP factory was established in Prostějov (former Czechoslovakia) in 1953 and an employee, Jaroslav Zatloukalm a passionate pilot and aircraft modeller started the production of plastic model kits in 1969. The first model designed by him was the famous Czech subsonic jet trainer Aero L-29 Delfín (Dolphin) in 1/72 scale and it reached the model shops in 1970. At the time this was among the first plastic model kits in Europe.
