Wow!! I've never built a 1/32 scale kit, but the F-86-D just might be my 1st one. What a fantastic looking model. Joel

Bill, while it looks great, the 86-D wasn't used in Korea. The 86-A, E, and F were.

Sorry, what differences are there with the Korean War version?
FEB 04, 2015 - 12:14 AM
Hi Bill Seeing as most sources state the Sabre Dog shared only around 25% commonality with previous versions, the full list is probably as long as your proverbial arm. Bill Gunston called it "a near-total redesign". Rather than being a classic dog-fighter like Korean War Sabres, the 'D was an all-weather bomber-killer. The most obvious changes were a larger, redesigned fuselage for an afterburning engine and radar in the nose with a chin intake, a taller tail and stabilisers with no dihedral. The guns were omitted in favour of a retracting rocket pack, and the sliding canopy was replaced by a clamshell type. All the best Rowan
