RS Models has released the Ki-61 Kia in 1/48 scale:-
The first prototype of the Ki-61 flew in December 1941 and testing other prototypes took place during 1942. In late 1942, these aircraft began to mass-produce military units came up at the beginning of 1943. In the autumn of that year, the intensification of armaments and during the war there were other improvements and modernized production modifications. Ki-61 have earned the respect of allies in the battle over New Guinea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Okinawa. Were part of the air defense of Tokyo, A total of 3078 pieces of machinery all versions.

I suppose a natural follow-on to their Kawasaki Ki-61-II Kai release, which was a very smart marketing move IMO. What I am really looking fortward to is their Caudron CR-714 C-1 in 1/48
