Stevens International have sent us details of two new Cold War classics from Trumpeter. The MiG-21MF and MiG-23BN are due for release in October.
2863 1/48 MiG-21MF Russian Fighter SRP $44.95
NEW VARIANT The MiG-21 was a Soviet aircraft which successfully combined the characteristics of an interceptor and a fighter. “MF” refers to the modernized engines and was the third generation of MiG-21 Fighters. It was upgraded with an R- 60M IR-seeking AAM weapons load. Kit consists of over 170 parts including photo-etch plus a detailed cockpit. (Bar code: 9580208028637) (Case pk: 36)
5801 1/48 MiG-23BN Flogger H Fighter SRP $74.95
NEW VARIANT The MiG-23BN, also known as the “Flogger-H”, began production in 1973. The aircraft was fitted with “type 3” wings, in addition to having its electronics upgraded. The BN also had the dielectric head, which was prominent in the MiG-23B, removed before production. Kit consists of over 380 parts including photo-etched seat belts and harnesses, positionable flaps and wings, a finely detailed cockpit and gear cabin, and several external loads.
