V-Tail Bf 109Gs
AZ Models has created three interesting kits exploring this rather pleasing looking air frame. It certainly will make a fascinating model to join your Bf-109’s flight line.
-MESSERSCHMITT BF 109G-0 "V TAIL" - AZ7545
-MESSERSCHMITT BF 109G-0/R-6 - AZ7546
-MESSERSCHMITT BF 109G-0 "ACES" - AZ7547
The V-tail Bf 109 was the Bf 109 V48 (G-0 with reference number 14003) which was designed to reduce air resistance. It flew for the first time on January 21, 1943 but the speed increase was less than 1 1/2 knots at the cost of stability. The project was dropped as not worth the effort for no practical gain.
