RS Models is to re-release the 1/72 scale Nakajima Ki-87 and Nakajima Ki-87 II

Nakajima Ki-87
The prototype Nakajima Ki-87 high altitude fighter with a pressurised cabin, and powered by the 2,400hp air-cooled supercharged engine Nakajima Ha-44-11. It was armed with two synchronised 20mm cannon Ho 5 and 30 mm cannons Ho 105 mounted in the wing. Three prototypes were ordered in July 1943, but only one Ki-87 was built. It first flew in April 1945 and at the end of the war only five flights were recorded. After the war, he was captured by the US military.

Nakajima Ki-87 II
The Ki-87-II was a paper development of Ki-87, powered by a 3,000hp Nakajima Ha-46-11 engine and with the turbo-supercharger under fuselage. None were built.
