Erik Mombeeck has another treat in store for Luftwaffe enthusiasts this autumn as he prepares to publish the latest volume in his Luftwaffe Gallery series. This time the focus will be on JG 54 - The Green Hearts.
"Dear friends and booksellers,
It is with very great pleasure that I'm writing to inform you about the publication - within 2-3 weeks - of the third volume in the Lufwaffe Gallery 'special' series.
This new volume is devoted to JG 54 'The Green Hearts'.
JG 54 was perhaps the most fascinating fighter Geschwader of the Luftwaffe, not least for modellers. This is in large measure due to the variety of non-standard colour schemes worn by the unit’s Bf 109 and Fw 190 fighters as well as the diversity of its emblems and insignia displayed both early and late in the war. Additionally, many leading fighter aces flew with JG 54; Hans Philipp, Walter Nowotny, Hannes Trautloft to mention just a few and of course there were numerous others. This latest Luftwaffe Gallery ‘special issue’ highlights the story of this fighter Geschwader through rare and newly translated first person accounts, many previously unpublished photos and specially commissioned artworks.
If you have any interest in acquiring this volume you need to let me know as soon as possible - no need to send any payment yet, I will contact you once the books arrive here (thus, don’t worry if I do not reply immediately).

As was the case with Volume 1 dedicated to the "Abbeville Boys of JG 26" - sold out in a matter of months and now a collector's item - and "Fighting on every front - JG 77", this new volume features 96 landscape A-4 pages illustrated with 32 of Thierry Dekker's superb artworks, some 250 photos (many previously unpublished) and a large number of newly translated first person accounts from Geschwader veterans.
