Following on from thier recent numbers and insignia paint mask set, DN Models have now released masks for the canopy, windows and wheels for the Hobby Boss 1/32nd B-24D Liberator.
B-24D Canopy, Windows & Wheels Liberator Paint Mask Set 1/32nd
Suggested scale - 1/32nd
Suggested kits - Hobby Boss B-24D Liberator #83212
Price - $18.99
SKU - 32/827-035
Re-usable die-cut camo mask set – All versions featured in #83212 are included
The set includes two sheets of masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. Material is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.
The B-24D Canopy and Windows are numerous and hard to preserve while painting. This set is designed for Hobby Boss’ D-version kit, which is the second one released from the company in 32nd scale. As a bonus, this set comes with wheel paint masks. Rims are separate from the tires with this B-24D kit, but if you decide to paint after assembly or use substitute wheels with the same size, the masks will come handy. B-24D canopy features various in size and shape windows, plus the kit is designed with interior, that is why the set features masks for both inside and out.
The B-24D Liberator #HB83212 is the second of the line of 32nd scale Liberators from Hobby Boss. This kit features different nose compared to the J variant. Both variants are covered by DN Models’ line of masks. Aside from the canopy/windows/wheels sets, there are several Assembly Ship sets available in DN Models’ store. In addition to those, there are masks that substitute the decals provided by Hobby Boss. Since 32nd scale Liberator is large aircraft, decals are hard to be applied in realistic manner. Masks for the insignia offer better realism and provide a perfect canvas for realistic weathering and chipping techniques, which are quite visible and important on large scale model aircraft.
