Academy has recently released a new 1/72 scale P-51C with markings of the 'Red Tails' of the 99th Fighter Squadron in World War II. A USA ground utility vehicle is also included.
The 'Red Tails' of the 99th Fighter Squadron was the first black combat fighter squadron and claimed over 261 kills while flying 15,553 combat missions. They have the distinction of being the only Army Air Corps unit that never lost a bomber doing escort missions.
This 1/72 scale kit comes with two 4.5” rocket launchers, two 500 lb, and 108 gallon and 75 gallon drop tanks. Fully engraved panel lines and authentic cockpit detail help round out the kit. A quality, high detailed ground vehicle is also inluded.
