Special Hobby have issued clarification about their new 1:72 SF-260 and Bf 109E kits and how they relate to other recently announced models of the same aircraft.
Dear customers,

we have recently received several questions regarding our kit SH72418 SIAI- Marchetti SF-260M/AM/W, because another SF-260 kit had been released by the company KP/AZ. The subject may bet he same but otherwise the kits have nothing in common. The quality of the two kits differs considerably, as you may see in this review that compares them:

https://modelweb.eu/2020/11/17/1-72-sf-260-srovnani-stavebnic-kp-a-sh/

The review is in Czech but it was written by an independent modeller and the pictures need no comment. We have the author's permission to use the pictures and you will find them attached to this e-mail. The components from our kit are always on the left side, on the right are KP’s. The difference is obvious. Feel free to show these pictures to your end customers as well.

We have another upcoming kit, SH72439 Bf 109E-4, and again it has nothing to do with the same kit announced by KP/AZ. Our kit was prepared in cooperation with Eduard and a third party. We used the latest technologies to make sure our kit is of the highest quality. The metal molds are based on 3D data and milled with high precision. The kit has very fine details and the assembly is easy. KP/AZ claims their kit is also based on 3D data but their own pictures clearly show that is a lie. It is a short run kit from a handmade master that is based on a model „borrowed“ from another company. KP/AZ also „borrowed“ our Hornet kit, including our instruction drawings.

We firmly believe that you will prefer the original over the copy and quality over quantity. We are sending you also pictures of the first testshots of our Bf 109E. These were made in a hurry straight from the machines and are only for you, so that you know what the kit will look like. Within the next few days we will send you professional pictures you can present to your customers.

Thank you
