Modelimex have released images of Planet Models' latest 1/48 scale resin kit - the Bugatti Model 100 Racer.
One of the most dramatic designs in speed-breaking history, and considered capable of a speed of over 500 mph, the Bugatti Model 100 was just nearing completion when the Germans invaded France. The plane was hastily evacuated from the factory and hidden in a barn, where it was to remain for nearly thirty years.

Planet Models kit costs 44.00 €

Hi Steffen I have too (equally "somewhere"!) - a Czech Model or Czech Kit? (I can't remember) - cast in dark blue translucent resin. Is that the same beast? All the best Rowan

Hi Steffen Ahh - that's a very different kit. I bought mine about 15 years ago and it has the fuselage, wings and canards cast all as one piece. It's probably this kit. It's stashed away somewhere - I've no idea where, but it'll turn up one day when I'm looking for something else! All the best Rowan

Hi Steffen That's what I thought, but it's all that turned up in a web-search. Whatever company it was, they also produced a Klemm light aircraft and an Arado 96B - all cast in translucent resin. I'll let you know if I find them in the stash. When I saw the artwork for your Master-X kit, I thought for a moment that was the one I've got, because the style is so similar - I'm sure it's by the same artist. All the best Rowan

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but I was thinking of building one of these in the future (seems like a nice partner to the Napier-Heston). I found an interesting article on a planned flying replica, which may be useful as a reference (the interior can be seen in the video at the end of the article) http://www.eaa.org/news/2009/2009-10-23_bugatti.asp

Hi Ben Really interesting! Thanks for that link. I think Jean-Luc might be building the kit at the moment, so he'll probably pounce on this to get some of the details right. All the best Rowan

Hi all, Yes Rowan, I've started the kit. So far I have only cleaned the parts. I'll do a little bit more during the week-end. The build will be mosty from the box with some very minor corrections... Jean-Luc
