DACO Products have sent us some infos about their new US Navy F-4 Phantom book which is now available. Judging from the preview pictures, it looks as if it would be a worthwhile addition to every collection of Phantom enthusiasts.
After one year working on it, my latest book has finally arrived from the printer: "Uncovering the US Navy F-4 B/J/N/S Phantom".
Containing 176 pages in full colour and with two 1 meter long fold-out pages with accurate 1/48 and 1/72 scale drawings and cockpit diagrams, this book uncovers everything of the US Navy Phantoms.
And although there have been several publications about the F-4E and other Air Force versions, this book is the first one which is focussed completely on the details of the Navy Phantoms, and nothing has been forgotten (I hope). It shows even items I didn't know about one year ago...
The first 80 pages uncover the outside fuselage, including the different wings and corresponding wheel wells and speedbrakes, the different radars, the various ECM/RHAW antennas, engines, stabilators... The following 44 pages go all about the different cockpits: F-4B/N, F-4J/S and the updated QF-4s. A complete section shows the Phantom in maintenance, with a lot of open panels and engines in full detail. The different Sparrows, Sidewinders, Mk81-82-83 bombs, rocket pods, napalm bombs are shown on 19 pages of armament, with many of them taken during the Vietnam War. And before we end with the fold-out pages, several pictures of the end for some QF-4s are given too. If you enjoyed the Tomcat book, you'll enjoy this latest Phantom book even more!
And although this book has more pages than before, the price is still the same as my other "big" books: 34,75 euro + postage (11.00 euro for Europe and USA, 17.00 euro for the rest of the world).
If you order during the coming week - before Friday November 6th, 2009 - you'll get an early-bird discount of 10%
