There are some interesting infos and pictures about the new releases of the MPM group in their February 2010 Newsletter. In 1:72 scale a Breda Ba.88B and in 1:48 scale a Morane Saulnier AI, a Spitfire Mk.Vc "Czechoslovak Squadron" and a Fw190 A-6 "Early Sturmbirds".
SH48099 Morane Saulnier AI 1/48

The high wing monoplane Morane Saulnier AI was one of the most powerful fighter aircraft of the World War 1. Even though its combat assignment was somewhat short it left traces in the aviation history. More than 1000 machines of all versions were produced and the trainer version was used long after the war's end. Except of France it was used by Belgian, Polish, Swiss and Japanese air forces.
The kit contains two sprues with plastic parts, resin and photo-etched parts. Decals included offer French machines from Escadrille MSP 156 (nos. 9 and 11) that sports swallow emblems and the last one from Escadrille MSP 158 that sports bird of prey with hunted snake.

During World War 2 Italy used only two twin-engined bombers. In the overflow of the tri-engined bombers only Fiat BR.20 Cicogna and Breda Ba.88 Lince succeeded. Just befor the outbreak of the WW 2 Breda Ba 88 achieved several speed records. The Italian High Command bid fair too much on these sleek and powerful machines. The combat assignment revealed the engines' and other systems' unreliability. Even though Ba.88s served until Italian armistice and even then several machines flew in Luftwaffe colors.

The highly detailed kit contains three sprues with plastic parts and injected canopy. Decals included offer three machines in four-colour Italian continent camouflage from the beginning of thee WW 2. All three machines feature Piaggio P.XI RC.40 engines with plain cowlings.

SH48091 Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VC "Czechoslovak Squadrons" 1/48

Except the standard photo-etched sheet we filled in the already highly detailed Spitfire Mk.VC kit with new resin parts for both interior and exterior. We also prepared new decal sheet that survey the service of Spitfire Mk.VC with the Czechoslovakian squadrons in RAF. Spitfire Mk.VCs served in all three Czechoslovakian squadrons from 1942 to 1944. We chose one machine from each squadron (Spitfire from No. 312 Squadron can be build with both long and clipped wing). The top of all is the AR502 machine that was a personal mount of W/Cdr Karel Mrázek that sported its initials.

SH48103 Focke Wulf Fw 190A-6 "Early Sturmbirds" 1/48

Luftwaffe's urgent need of armoured fighters capable of attacking the bomber boxes arose when US B-17E Flying Fortresses were deployed over Europe in 1943. Therefore Sturmstaffel 1 was established in Dortmund; the first unit purely destined to attack the bombers only. It was equipped with Focke Wulf Fw 190A-6 with side and canopy armour plates.

We enhanced Eduard's Fw 190A-6 kit with photo-etched parts for the armour plates, resin wheels and Erla rack. The armour plates on the initial series of the Fw 190 differed from the Fw 190A-8, since they consisted of three or four parts on each side. The photo-etched parts allow building of both early types. The decals included offer three machines. “White 1” that was flown by Major H.G. von Kornatzki, “White 2” of Gefr. G. Vivroux and very interesting “White 7” that was flow by two pilots Oberleutnant O. Zehart and E. Bascila. Unlike the other machines, “White 7” featured four part armour plate and early Erla rack instead of the common ETC 501.
