We are reporting from the U.S. IPMS Nationals held this year in Phoenix, Arizona. The show has just finished up it's second day and will run through Saturday the 7th of August. We spoke to Ernie Gee the owner/operator of G-Factor Models and he gave us the low-down on his most recent releases.
I remember speaking to Ernie about his new business a couple of years ago. He crafts/sculpts accessory parts for aircraft, ships and autos and casts them in primarily white bronze. This metal has the added benefit of being able to be polished to a chrome like finish. For the show Ernie created a set of landing gear for an F-14 Tomcat. He also has released a 40mm Bofers gun (and support guns) for the 1/144 scale U.S.S. Fletcher (Revell). His work is attracting quite a following at the show (see picture at right) and in person it was very impressive in terms of attention to detail.
G-Factor should be available to most hobby shop in the U.S. (being distributed by Stevens Intl. and others). As well Hannants distributes the line in the U.K. So if you don't find it at your local hobby shop ask and maybe they will stock them.
