This published release is a newly printed offering from Schiffer Publishing. It’s in their Military History Book series. The book is comprised of twelve chapters, printed on heavy poster stock type paper. The information enclosed is quite complete, but the photo content is mostly black and white - although
two color center-spread pages give views of the cockpit from the pilot and radio operators’ point of view.

There are several pictures and a great volume of text, which describe the engines that were fitted
during the JU-88’s career as a multi role aircraft type. Detail photos of equipment fitted and most, if not all types of armament that could be added to the aircraft are dispersed throughout the text.

Chapters are uniquely divided, and cover prototype to war ending usage. There are detailed sub-drawings and scrap views that show special equipment and important construction of the airframe. There are several plan views and different profile views. These describe different types of gun and bomb packages that could be fitted to the Ju-88. The scrap detail photos and drawings will be of good use to modelers wishing to detail areas of their model, such as the bomb bay and landing gear wells and cockpit. The listing of variants and the differences will come in handy, if one wishes to make a conversion of a particular model type aircraft represented in plastic.

This book is not in the format of books, like Detail & Scale and therefore the review or descriptions of models and kits available are absent. Four pages in the back of the book have photos, and a short paragraph describing models. This offering does not have a color & markings list of specific unit aircraft, and therefore falls short in the decal possibilities. Not much for the “this is what you can build” type printed matter. Overall this book has a lot of text info, and goes into great descriptions of the history of one of germanys important bomber aircraft.
