Come on Erik, you have a full week to work! I've seen some modelers here churn out more progress in less time...just keep working towards the end!

And if you really can't finish it for the MiGs campaign, you could always wait until a campaign for half-finished models rolls around

Wow, deadline is close but I just cannot move as fast as I want .. I do not even know why, the kit is great and easy to build and I have all the stuff to build my c&m ... here is the present state. I added most of the parts for the Revi/HUD. The seat is painted and awaiting PE seat belts. I added the Quickboost scoops and built on the cannon (from the box, even if the Quickboost is very nice) and the PE blast shields for the aux intakes

still hope to finish it, but seeing the massive decal sheet ....

all the best

Seems like an extension would really hit the spot?

Hey, I got a massive decals to go with my entry too!

Just had some problems with the Ye-152, while applying the weapons several fins snapped off. I have only one day left this month that I can work on it due to work so an extension would be great.

Guys, Allen pinged me about you wanting an extension. No problem. I'll have him push it out another month so you can finish. Now get to buildin'!

Thanks Matthew, I'll still try and get it done next week but knowing I have a buffer is a great help.

Thanks for the extension - it might be helpful, although I made a little more progress. The cockpit is finished. I am not completely satisfied with the cockpit, but it will look fine under the glazing.

Next is the addition of decals - it will be interesting to see how the idea of decal camouflage works.

More to follow soon

Jesper, that's all looking pretty nice! I bet you're happy about the extension too Your cockpit is weathered up nicely, but I think it's just missing some color. Do a Google image search for "Mig-29 Cockpit" and you'll get bunches of pictures to help you spruce up the tub a bit more. Don't forget too that drybrushing a steel/aluminum/silver/whatever you have in stock over all the surfaces can really bring out the depth of the dials and buttons. Best of luck, and I can't wait to see more from you all!

(However, I also understand if you're feeling like you just want to move on from that one section already...happens to us all!)

Thanks for the tip, Robby. I will try it out.

Vance, that MiG-21 looks great!! The camouflage is first class.
You can look forward to the Eduard MiG-21. Although I have not build it yet, I have looked over the parts and they look great with delicate details.

More to follow on my MiG-29.

I have now finished the my MiG-29. The finish is actually very nice and although I had to cut some of the bigger decals into smaller pieces that worked very well. In short I would not hesitate to apply decal camouflage on another kit in the future.

However, I made a major mistake. In choosing the basecolour I believed my Light ghost grey was very similar to the light grey in the camouflage. So I changed the colour so that both colours in the camouflage would stand out against eachother. The end result of course being that the camouflage grey on the decals and my base colour is almost exactly the same.

This has now turned my three colour camouflage in to a two colour camouflage. Very anoying, but I can only blame myself.
The wing close up photo below actually has three camouflage colours on it.

All that being said it was a fun build

Lookin good Jesper! The digicam is really impressive...I didn't think it would be so easy to apply! It's pretty cool that you managed to match the base coat color with the decal color so well It just makes for a great story to tell when you look back on the kit

Hey folks,

Thanks for all the positive comments on the MiG-15. I'll have to build a MiG-29 soon- they are looking superb.

@ Vance- Great MiG-21. Great camo scheme. Really impressive paintwork.

Good to see that you folks got the extension. Good luck getting to the finishing line. The more MiGs in the campaign gallery the better!

Thanks for the comment, Robby. Imagine hitting the decal colour almost spot on when trying to do the opposite

Lapman, nice natural metal finish on your Mig-15.

Everyone has done extraordinarily well on this campaign, except me of course. I joined it and never got my MiG-17 out of the box! Yikes! School has been taking up some time along with life. I did just propose a Sukhoi campaign in case anyone is interested. I will actually build something this time, I promise! Again, great builds, one and all. Russell

argh.... will post up some more progress over this weekend, the last seven or so days have been rather frantic. It seems FAFSA (Federal Student Aid for the non-US folks) made mash of my daughter's tuition package, and failed to tell her until mere days before she was scheduled to start her first semester of college. So the extended family have been scrambling to fix the situation and find funds so that she could go off to start school. Ergo, too stressed out to do hobby. Luckily everyone managed to pitch in enough to cover her costs and she's on her way, so now to relax and get back to work.

Hi there

I've taken advantage of the extension of the campaign date to join in with my Eduard MiG-21SMT which I'm building for its review. I know I'm tempting Fate by "going public", as it's often the kiss of death for me to join a campaign!

Anyway, here's the build in pics so far:

I'm about half-way through applying the stencils - so there's still plenty to do. Hopefully I can bring this one home on time!

All the best
