Hi Chris,

why not? Lightly overspray the model with some gloss white. Make a little vignette wich accentuetes the chilly mood. Maybe with a pilot in winter uniform next to it.

Yeah tell me about it! Well I've taken to the canopy with some metal polish and it's polished up reasonably well. Coated both the inside and outside with Future to help with the clarity. Glued it back down and now I'll wait for it to cure and then start the retouching process.

So I've filled where the aerial was and retouched the paint work. For some reason the Hobbycraft instructions would have you attach the short aerial mast for the G14 when it was deleted in the K series. So things are looking decidedly better than they were. Now to take some pics for the gallery before something else goes wrong!

@Joel: There are times my friend it just doesn't pay to get out of bed.

@Lars: Believe me Lars I did seriously consider something along those lines. Or the simple expedient of putting a cover over the canopy.

Any who here are some pics of the finished article.

Chris,
Glad to see you got over that hump. I'm always keen to see another awesome 109.

A true blue dyed in the wool Bf109 fan eh buddy? Perhaps we should propose an Augsburg Eagle campaign? I have so many B through to K .... altho the K is built now LOL.

Hi Chris,
I have 3 Emils and two Gustavs in my stash. I wanna do a sharkmouthed C, too. All things in their time I guess. I think I even have Augsburg decals, too.

Cheers,

Gaz

Great going Gaz! I want to get an Eduard 1/32nd Bf109E-7 and do it in North African camo .... one of the most iconic colour pics of the Bf109 I've seen is of the two north african Bf109E-7 flying low over the north african landscape and their wings are a perfect match for the terrain they're flying over.

Well look at that .... Camo that actually works!

Chris,
The finished Me109K really looks quite good. The camo paint scheme and weathering really work well together. And the save on the canopy came out perfect. Of course I still lead in Aeroscale saves, as I have quite a high percentage of screw ups to deal with these days.

I stared at the desert picture, and I couldn't believe just how well the camo scheme actually works.

Chris: Really good done rescue mission on Your canopy. I like the model of Your Messerschmitt very much and I am looking forward to Your Desert-Messerschmitt. But beware, do not fly over the sea or Your cloak of invisibility will fall down .

Hummm, a Augsburg Campaign II?

Never too many 109's I say. Furthermore, not counting 3 in the stash I've just ordered the revised moulds 109 G Overtrees from Eduard.

Chris, that's a fine Karl indeed 👍👍

@Joel: Surely good sir jests? One such as yourself doesn't make faux pas! Given your current circumstances Joel I think you do a pretty damn fine job of building kits. I can only hope to emulate what you do as I progress towards retirement. (10 years and counting!)

@Oliver: All one need do is fly upside down good buddy! LOL

@Lars: Many thanks Lars!

@Pedro: Many thanks Pedro for your kind words. I'm in for round 2 if you are Pedro!!!???
