Hobby Boss 1/48th Me 262A-1a/U4, built oob (except gun-sight and taillight), camouflage and markings for the first prototype W.Nr.111899 (different from the kit markings).
I altered the tail light which is definitely necessary for the kit markings and probably/maybe too for the first prototype. Also I imitated the EZ42 gyroscopic gun sight.

Thank you Russel!
I thought the dio would fit the scene very well --- there were many shelters in the woods around Munich. Though it is of course not fully correct in a historical sense.
all the best
Steffen
P.S. here is another pic more focussing on the car but with some older figures (of couse the Kapok west makes it even less accurate)
I posted the pix of the truck on HS PP, ML 48scale forum and Track 48 forum ... but not in Armorama (I simply forgot)

Ok, thanks for the feedback, Steffen.
No, I guess this bird never really drew blood, but it was an intended viermot killer. The concept might work on paper, but reality is sometimes different.
Once again, great work

That cannon is entirely too small to have been of any use...
It looks awesome Steffen!

Thanks! Glad you like it!
at the moment I am a bit into dioramas, so there might be more into this direction... the Fw 189 might fit that box too
cheers

A fine looking diorama! I would be interested in learning a bit more about it's construction, namely; the making of the wooden hardstand, the blast walls, and the two track "road". I'm also curious as to whether or not the upper panel enclosing the little popgun is permanently fixed or removable. It looks to be fitted too well to be removeable but you never know?? I build in 1/72 and have only made a couple of little dioramas but I think your technique could be replicated in a smaller scale, thus my interest. Your project is an inspiration to me. And you must know that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".
Cheers, Wayne

Hi Wayne
Many thanks for your kind comment. As posted earlier, there is a build log of the Dio, which should answer most of your questions regarding this:
Ostfront shelter dio
It is WIP -the Flak stand in particular- but already good enough as a photo backdrop. The hard stand and road are Mark 58 products ... and Marc Toillié has a bunch more stuff , also some in 72nd scale. See LINK might be you do not find what you are looking for, then just ask Marc at the given contact.
That is the best one can achive with an article, thanks a lot!
all the best

Many thanks for this article, Steffen! I'm slowly working on a couple of Me-262s, but ran across questions about painting various bays, etc. You cleared that up for me.
And wow, what great work! Ausgetzeichnet!

Thanks for your kind comment Tom!
As for c&m. This mostly based on my personal taste. IMO Late war the stuff was mostly left unpainted. The gear legs came from a different company so thes were probably (possibly) painted. I just had a decision with a clubmember who insisted the crate would be painted RLM 74/75 as this would have been an early airfram. Well I think it was painted 82/83 as this prototype was built up in 1945 ...
so you see there probably is no absolute truth, but some educated guessing
all the best
