Hi all!
James, there are big chances that this Campaign will be accepted. However, we have a Modern Campaign already starting in September and finishing in February. There is also a "Swing-wing" Campaign that is waiting over a year now for approval...
So I think it is possible that "Phabulous Phantom" will start on May 27th, 2008 in fact rather than end on this date.

I'd be interested in participating in such a campaign. I've always wanted to have another go at the Phantom since I the one I built during my childhood. I may even have it still in storage, though it probably is in several pieces by now...

Ok jean That date sounds good to start on.
I would like it to start at least on the 27th of may as of course that was it's maiden flight 50 years ago.
But if the other campaign has to come in before this one then so be it.
and captainA i dont completley get you but if you are saying you have to use different decals from another kit or annything like that that is allowed. if thats what you meant.
any phantom is allowed to be made but it must be of the country, markings and variant. P.S there are around 50 (I think) variants and any is allowed.
cheers
James

Don't worry about my unguided ramblings.
I was just trying to get some information on kits and AM to make my build accurate. The USAF RF-4Cs had dual flight controls. A lot of the Phantom II kits have only single flight controls. As I am going to build this for a friend who actually flew one, accuracy is important to me. I ordered my kit and AM yesterday. It oughta look good in 1/32.

I worked on the F-4E Phantom II at Seymour-Johnson AFB back in the 80's, I've been itching to build a 4th TFW bird for a long time.....guess my wait is over!

Hi James, if 1/144 is allowed I'll join in on this. I have a set of US Navy decals that have been looking for a reason to be used.

UK based members may be interested to know that the F-4 SIG plan to have a display of 500 Phantoms at the 2008 UK Nationals to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the mighty Phantom, so this campaign would tie in nicely with that.
http://www.500phantoms.com/
Will proposed developments and "what-if" F-4s be allowed? eg Brazil and the Marineflieger both wanted the Phantom but got F-5s and F-104s instead.

Hi all!
How on earth could I miss this one????
Oh, well, I have signed up now!
Considering my "call-name" here, I HAVE to!
What to build and what scale will be a difficult decision as there´s sooo many cool schemes and variants on this bird!
I have the SAMI Phantom Data files (all three of ´em) very high on my "to-buy" list!
Naturally I have plenty of other books on the bird, but I can never have too much reference-books!
One thing is certain; It will be a Vietnam-era bird, perhaps a F-4B from Screaming Eagles, a F-4J from Death Angels or even an USAF F-4E in four-tone SEA-cammo.
Scale? Everything from 1/144 to 1/32 depending on the time frame.
Looking forward to this campaign!
Cheers!

I'm definitely In on this one. My brother and I have always loved the phantoms. I was also sifting through my decals and found a door prize from an IPMS National convention. They're CAM decals, but I think for for an F-4B, and I don't have a B. Oh well, guess I'll have to build my 1/32 Revell..... oh darn.

To be honest I was bitten by the Phantom bug only recently. I just bought my first F-4 kit and I've started collecting all the necessary bits. I was hoping to find a campaign that would be a appropriate and I found this. It's almost too perfect.
I'll be building the re-boxed Hasegawa (now Pro-Modeler) 1/48 F-4E. The markings will be of "Betty Lou" of the 469th TFS based out of Korat in February of '69.
The only hard part will be waiting to begin.

I'm in!
I've got about 30 up in the stash - the hard part will be deciding which variant and markings to do!

James I’ve altered the picture you requested for a campaign ribbon, and I’ve uploaded this as in the correct .gif format and size that was specified to me. I had to alter the text to make it semi readable.

PS:Darren, has your callsign anything to do with Dibler?

I shall be building a F-4B in 1/48th if i can find one somewhere .
