All finished
Thunderbolt MKII. 42Sqn RAF Burma 1945.
Additions to the basic kit are Eduard pre painted seatbelts. Fine wire added to the engine, undercarriage and rear of instrument panel.
Various shades of Alclad for the nmf. ID stripes and antiglare panel sprayed in Tamiya Acrylics.Detail painting in Humbrol enamels.
Decals from Avi Print (72010).




This turned into a really long build and Im pleased its finally done!

What colour Tamiya paint did you use for the ID stripes. I've a 48 scale post war Jug to do, paint called for is xtracolour insignia blue, but if there is an acrylic match i'll use it.

Hi Andy.
I used Tamiya XF-8 Flat Blue. It was a very close match to the colour of the ID stripes decals.
Ive been mucking about with the settings on the camera and different backgrounds. The blue seems to give everything a blue tinge.
This one is a lot closer to how it looks in natural light.

I managed to get a bunch of good pictures today. Heres one of them.
A NMF is really hard to photograph, as soon as you get some good light it just reflects off the Alclad.
