Both of the last 1/48 Roden SE 5a (Viper powered) kits are nearing completion. The USAS version is coming along nicely and nearly completed. Also, I have a very cool history of why Monogram chose to use these markings on their kit. My build of course is the finer mold from Roden with the monogram decals. On C 1149 rigging is still in progress.

Greeetings all;

I have been delayed somewhat by my real world work schedule. - My annual refresher training - it gets worse every year it seems. Anyway, both Vipers are getting their tail units rigged at this time. Rudder, steerable tail skid, elevators and stay wires. 14 strands per tail at a total of 28 strands.

When that is done its the aileron control cables and Lewis guns. Next clear Dullcote and finally the windshields added with PVA (white school glue.) Then I'll post some finished images. Then I will get to that newly acquired Roden 1/48 SE 5a w/Hisso as mentioned previously.

Greeetings all; Update!
Both Vipers are have their tail units and aileron control cables rigged at this time. Rudder, steerable tail skid, elevators and stay wires. 14 strands per tail at a total of 28 strands.

The inevitable touch ups are next and then add the Lewis guns. Next clear Dullcote and finally the windshields added with PVA (white school glue.) The acrylic display boxes are to show up tomorrow and by the end of the week 7 more completed 1/48 builds will be ready for display at the Foundation. That will be on Jan 31st for a special dinner celebration for the organization.) By the way we now have a Full sized SE 5a we will be building as well. They just picked up the fuselage and wings about 6 weeks ago.
