Thanks for the nice words I'm glad you like it

I thought however that the streaking on the wings was supposed to be at an angle to the line of flight, or is this just the picture angle?

You are right, Brad most of the Dr.I pictures I saw had the streaking at an angle to line of flight but the pictures of 586/17 show that the streaking followed the line of flight (look at the picture at the begining of this thread).

I will be in Chile most of the week and I don't know if I will have Internet access there.

Cheers

Thanks Stephen, I will really need that extension because I won't be able to even touch a kit in the following days, I just come back from the Congress at Chile and I have to present a report to my University, ......

Hello everybody,

I know its too late but here are the pictures of the last stages of the Fokker build and of finished model.
Actually, I finished the model on saturday night but while I was taking pictures of it and I broke the landing gear I was too angry to fix the broken struts at that moment so I went to bed without uploading the pictures...

Altered lower wing cross from its earlier fully bordered form to follow the Kogenluft order of
may 13, 1918.

Certainly this build took me much more time than I expected but I enjoyed it. I'm really of the opinion that 1/32 is the best scale for World War I aircraft models but on the other hand I have too many 1/48 kits to change my focus to 1/32 (also, I found that 1/32 kits emphasize my AMS)
Finally, I want to thank Stephen for let me participate in this GB and the others members for their support and patience

Cheers,

Claudio

Claudio,

Your build is absolutely stunning. One thing I find particularly inspiring for me is that there are no brush strokes to be seen in the streaking or painting anywhere. Everything is uniform with crisp edges. It is truely masterful. I've been viewing the posted pictures with sheer enjoyment. Thanks for sharing and posting.

Excellent Claudio! And here is the fun part. Your image of the finished build is included in the close out of this GB. A long hard road for you. but it is simply beautiful.

Thanks Stephen !
I promise that next time I will try to be faster.
Now, I need a break from WWI modeling......perhaps a F-22?

Cheers,

Great work Claudio: I just finished this kit and it was more work than I had imagined. I cut corners as I was getting bored with it, but I am overall pleased. I had some confusion over the location of the cabane struts attachment points to the upper wing, it isn't correct but it will work. I am a bit gunshy to try another Roden kit at this point. I will continue to peruse the on line builds. Your notes and work were an inspiration to me, and I want to thank you for your effort and compliment you on such a fine example.

Thanks Mark, I'm glad you found my build useful.
By the way, why you don't post some photos of your model?

Cheers,:-H
