"Summertime and the living is easy"
This year my garden have hold me outside since early April.Whole new layout for the garden, plenty of room for lots of flowers. The last project is a Japanese garden, someplace to get lost in your head and just dream away.
The way the garden looks from the street.
yes, it´s small, but always when I´m involved, full of details
The place were you can find peace in your mind.

What gets me out ?
Burn-out ... LOL
My wife and home of course
then there's that terrible four-letter word ... WORK
but I do tend to stay with the "plastic" portion of the hobby as I get involved with wargaming in several genres

Right. All kind of weirdos here allright.
As for myself I'm into bikes, bikes and bikes. This one is a semi-factory Yam 125 from my very brief classic racing career. Humiliated a Kawasaki 250 triple and a Honda 500 four with it, so at least I had more talent than economy.
This is the company project at the moment. A 450 cc cross/enduro/supermoto-racer. We beat some yanks with it in Oklahoma last weekend
The only bad thing about working with a lifetime hobby is that you seem to get less and less time with it as a hobby. But then again, every now and then I find myself behind the handle bar, throttle fully open, heavy lean angle and the sun pushing me from behind - and getting paid for it! That can be a slice of heaven
hey tony , seems like there a few of us motorbike nuts on here, i used to race TZ250's for about 7 years here in the UK.
and this is what i do now www.moto-racer.com among other things.(its a new site and isn't finished yet)
p.s. do you ever go to mettet with that supermoto ?

Hi Paul. We had a tough decision when choosing between AMA in the US and the World championship, but USA seems to be our most promising market. A few weeks ago we scored podium in motard unlimited, so we're on the run.
The weirdest thing of all is that I have never built a bike model, and weirder still - I don't feel the urge. But, ok, a black TZ 500 (or light blue RG 500)with the old heroes #7 on it would look good on the shelf.
Ride rude Tony

Gone totally off the modelling bug at the moment (1/144th scale P.E for a U/Boat does that to you ), so have been going fishing every chance I get (well until the footie season starts again).

Since my kids are grown I can't blame them anymore. Here are a couple of things that take me away from my modleing..
1975 Honda CR250M Elsinore- I grew up riding one of these and recently found one for a song, so I bought it. Currently working to bring her back to factory specs.
This one tried to plant me in the ground permanently. Broken collarbone, middle finger, and elbow all in the same crash. Getting off of one of these at 60mph is not fun. Its a 2005 with a host of aftermarket goodies on the inside as well as outside. She'll run with the best of them, just not with me aboard anymore. I use her to trail ride in the mountains and putt around town occassionaly.
This is my baby. Never been off of her tires (Knock on wood) and has never failed me. 2003 Harley Davidson FXDWG (Dyna Wideglide) She's far from stock anymore with some internal and external tweaks. She produces about 90hp and sounds like thunder. I need to get her in to the shop for a tune up and 5k check up. Just turned over 15k on her odo.
A few of my other diversions. Left to right Colt Defender (My carry weapon) Springfield XD in 9mm, and my HK USP in .40. SWMBO recently got interested in shooting and we do this together.
And last but not least. My 1965 Ford Falcon with all of 21k on the odo. I bought her a few years ago and just recently began restoring her. So far so good. Just got the engine and trans done and reset a couple of weeks back. A before and after pic.
Still a ways to go, but she's getting there.
Some of my other diversions are SCUBA diving with SWMBO, and going on cruises with SWMBO. It's a nice life. Thanks, "Q"

I'm taking a dance course again. Already did rock 'n' roll and salsa, this time it's Lindy Hop (dance is actually named after Charles Linberg's big hop from NY to Paris). Keeps me in shape too!
(No, thats'not me, pic from internet)
EDIT:
Wait, got one from myself doing this:
Cheers, Nico

Seems we have something in common other than models Steven. Putting the lights, roofing and soffits in this week end. 3.5' high wall around the patio with two gates, stucco posts, beams and wall to match the house in the coming weeks. Nice work on your deck. Is that Redwood? "Q"

Thanks Nico,Lars....
As far as Iv been able to find out, this house was built for the areas first schoolteacher back around the 1870s or so...the school was across the street and from pictures it looked exactly like a BARN......lol..needless to say its got over 130 years worth of home renovations(some worse than others) to replace..thats why I call it my 1:1 scale house....lol
when we moved in the house was hidden behind a massive cedar hedge...we ripped that out by hand, planted the roses and seeded the grass.....looks much better now
Due to the circumstances,"coincidences",involved in my wife and I finding this house,I honestly look at it as a true gift from God...theres just no other explination for it..

A question, Stephen: do you think that not having any shrubbery around your deck makes it look bigger? I heard from guys who have small decks say that it does. It might just be all in the mind, though.

I am scared of shrubberies. After my last experience with "the Knights of Knea." But truthfully I haven't thought much about it. My wife is the green thumb in the house.
