If I spend too much time sitting at the modeling table my felines come and demand that I take a break and play with them.

Hi
I promised some pics from my family’s trip to Croatia. Here they are. Nine days free off models and plastic. Lots of sceneries and water, so here’s the memory lane

This big Arena in (if I remember right) Puula, dated from 79 BC, the 7 biggest in the world. They still use this arena for concerts so don’t you think ( -Did they have plastic blue seat then?).The size was massive. The weather gave us 34 degres Celsius in the shade.

Sometimes you just forgot the beer you order.

Here´s my son just trys to sell a house to me?

I don´t know if you count this into the hobby but this turn more and more interesting once again. This is Andrea´s 54mm "King of the Road" figure. I use to paint figures before I started up the early bird builds and interest. Now this turns up again.Simple just you and some brushes and a bag of colours..

My wife and me went to Münich for a few days. Visited Nymphenburg castle:

And met an old friend:

We did of course many other things, but I ain't gonna bore you with that, cause we also visited das Deutsches Museum:

The Rumpler CIV:

There also was a Fokker Dr.1 replica:

Some nice engines:

And a machine that makes the currogated metal:

Bút, there also was a very nice diorama:

Also a nice model of a Staaken:

All in all I really enjoyed myself in this nice big town!

Cheers, Nico

This is what I do outside of the hobby:

There's no thing on Earth as rewarding as watching these cheeky little buggers enjoying themselves with their antics and individual personalities, and rearing little babies. I LOVE it!!!

I also keep Java finches too.

When I'm not modelling I restore vintage motorcycles. I have a 1939 BSA M21 with sidecar which I ride every day. My latest is a 1929 BSA 600cc single cylinder side valve sloper with sidecar. All up I have restored seven bikes.

Kids (when they can't be avoided), fishing and guitars. The main reason that I got back into modeling is because I had kids, and no longer have time to go on fishing trips, and they complain that I play my guitar too loud and don't like my music (heathens). Sooooooo, it looks like modeling wins the day !!

Allmost anything related to having a social life, a wife, house, kids, work etc. - in that regard modelling is pretty low in the foodchain.

On the hobby level modelling competes with shooting - mostly blackpowder, reading going on trips to historic places.

Interesting topic:

I play the Hammond Organ and Yamaha Synthesizer in a gigging Southern Rock Band. I got back from Sturgis on 11 August after playing three nights there. Yes I and the future Mrs. rode the Harley out there and back from Western Wisconsin. As mentioned before I put the hobby on hold during the summer months due to riding, and with an upcoming wedding will be on hold for awhile. I also work part time at a local Harley Dealer so that occupies more time in summer than in winter months. I hope to build at least a couple of the WNW kits that I have, the Albatri and the Pup being chief among them at this point.
Best
